Don’t Dog Tags have boarders?

I really don’t know much about this. So I could be wrong. But don’t dog tags usually have a boarder around them to keep them from jingling?

yes - Dex's dog tags have the plastic edges. You can see them in photos. But the metal on metal still clicks.
Dog tags under clothing that fits (like a shirt, jacket, or coat) as a rule do not make sounds when a person is moving. Otherwise the military would be a noisy bunch.

My father’s either. I think you have to put those on if you want too. Like those color coded plastic things you can put on keys. They would still make some noise when he’s wearing both of them.

My dog tags didn't have borders, but then I never wore my dog tags when I was in the military. But I didn't get deployed as Dex did. Most of the vets and retirees I know don't wear their dog tags so I think Dex wearing his is a plot point.

People have the borders put on themselves, the military doesn’t do that. The dog tags don’t make noise that gets picked up like this because soldiers secure them, they don’t let them just swing on the chain.

I had to buy the rubber silencers for mine the military doesn't give them to you. But even without them the dog tags wouldn't make the noise Brando and Joss were describing. I think it's a bunch of keys on a key ring on a belt. That would be loud enough to be heard in a downpour.

Yeah you have to buy those they aren't issued that way. Mine certainly weren't anyways.

I don't see how Dex's dog tags will be jostling under a heavy shirt or coat that the hooker killer was wearing. Bracelets are more prone to making noise as are handcuffs or a chain against that metal hook.

All I know is my bracelets clink la lot when I wear multiple ones which I do a lot. Each have their own charm. This is why I keep thinking The Hook is probably a woman We saw a very small frame person at the garage door and she probably wears multiple bracelets.

I think you are correct. When he was hung up at Sonny's, he was moving quite a bit and there was no noise. I think that helps to eliminate him as a suspect from my list at least.
