If Michael is so in love with Willow and obviously money is no object - why wasn't he happy with the news that she was pregnant? I don't think she is (didn't we see this same situation with Chase where she thought she was pregnant?) - but I would've thought they would be excited at the news. Actually, neither of them seemed happy about the idea.

Am I the only one who thought Michael wasn't too pleased about the pregnancy?

Well I watch the entire episode, and Michael WAS thrilled. His hesitation was because he wasn’t sure Willow was excited, which is why he said “do you?” when he wasn’t sure she was happy about the news.

Heaven knows I don't like Michael and I am not happy he and Willow are having a baby together. But I think their reactions to an unplanned pregnancy were spot on. They were shocked, unsure how the partner would feel about said unplanned pregnancy, and then happy once they realized they were on the same page.

I get what you are saying. I was expecting an immediate "Oh wow! This is great!" But I agree with what others said in that he wasn't sure how Willow felt. And this is another example of why I don't like them together. Willow was on eggshells waiting for Michael's response and in this case, he was doing the same with her.

It's so asinine. They are living together and raising a child together. Michael is supposed to be some big shot CEO, and yet he can't tell Willow how he feels without gauging her first? Is that supposed to show the viewers that he is this great, sensitive boyfriend? It comes across as wimpy to me.

With everything that those 2 have gone thru as of late, I am not surprised that Michael would have to, change his mindset that something is "wrong" with Willow, Losing ELQ the way that they did, The court proceedings.....Even though that they won, it was still a nail biter on both of them. Combine that with the harassments from Nina and you can say that they both have a ton on their backs....JMO

This is good news for them though. They talked it to death, tip-toeing around each other first. Even if it took a minute to register, that reaction was too much on eggshells. Again, supposed grown ups who can "tell each other anything" and yet all the gauging and hesitation? Their reactions don't fit their words.

Every time a soap opera character gets surprising news, or even unsurprising news, they have to give frozen-face look so that the viewer is left in suspense during the commercial. After the commercial, the viewer sees the real reaction. That's what Michael did.
Michael and Willow just got through the death of her mother, the revelations that her mother wasn't really her mother, the revelations that her supposed mother was a murderer, the ugly visitation hearing with Nina, and then the ELQ battle. Then Michael hears that Willow has fainted, he rushes to the hospital thinking that she is really ill (and of course we know she probably is). She still looks terrible, and they hadn't planned for a pregnancy right then, so he needed half-a-minute to take it all in. It was actually considerate that he asked her how she felt about it.
But they were both very happy, and when he picked her up and spun her around, they looked really in love. I wish we had gotten some more scenes showing Willow and Michael like that -- the writers stuck them in the stupid Chase triangle for far too long, and since then it's been nonstop unhappy drama.

Sioban I agree. Wish it would work the same on Carly, but she is almost more annoying when muted due to the gyrations of her mouth as she goes through the gamut of emotions in nearly every scene.

maybe it was the shock but when he was hugging her and they showed his face he did have a weird look on his face and he did make the comment about birth control pills-she lied and said these things happen but did not say she stopped taking them. i bet he will find the pills were not being taken and will not be too happy.
