Willow and Michael DID try and Compromise RE: Wiley

Why is it, with all these calls for compromise from Dante, Maxie, even freaking Brad of all people, NO ONE seems to remember that it was Michael and Willow who reached out to Nina FIRST???

They were the ones who went to her nearly the same day they heard that she was supposedly Nelle's mother, without a DNA test for confirmation, and allowed Nina an opportunity to spend time with Wiley when they didn't have to.

They are the ones who INVITED Nina into their home to spend even more time with Wiley only for Nina to disrespect them, and their relationship as his parents by telling Wiley something she was specifically told not to tell him.

And then instead of apologizing and admitting what she did was wrong, she made excuses and tried to justify it.

And yet that wasn't the end of the chances they gave her. When she was in Nixon Falls, without a second thought to Wiley, Michael begrudgingly invited her yet AGAIN to spend time with Wiley and Nina once again came into Michael and Willow's HOME and lied to their faces.

I mean seriously, how many times are they suppose to give her a second chance? This is ridiculous. Even if you forget about everything she's done since coming back to Port Charles: chasing after Sonny, having an emotional affair with him, sleeping with Sonny, being the last straw to the end of his marriage to Carly, and the constant lies and manipulations, particularly trying to hide what she's done from Willow and Harmony while trying to manipulate them into advocating for her, etc... You're talking about some pretty generous behavior on Michael and Willow's part that Nina repeatedly disrespected or took advantage of.

and all they asked for was a little time to let things setlle down...nina couldn't even give them that....and if they kept letting her visit it would have been very strained/ stressed and that little boy would have picked up on it

Michael and Willow were willing to compromise from the get go by allowing Nina to visit. I am saying compromised because as Wiley grew up he was going to know about Nelle at one point or another.

Nina is the one that couldn’t compromise with the fact that Nelle was not going to be part of Wiley’s life in his day to day.

Well it’s a boring storyline that is sucking the life out of GH.

I just don't understand why they didn't make them supervised visits. Heck, even after being blackmailed, they still let her take Wiley to the pool on her own. If they were so concerned, they should've been hanging around with Nina while she was with Wiley. That's just common sense. It has the appearance that they'd rather let Nina take their kid unsupervised than have to spend time around her themselves (not that I believe that - it's all contrived plot driven writing.)

this is soap land, in the real world not getting along with a co parent or grandparent doesn't mean automatic loss of rights, usually murder does but who actually pays for murder on GH?

This is the most frustrating part of the storyline for me.

Nina is acting as if Michael and Willow have it out for her, don't give her any wiggle room, and it's all Carly's fault.

Meanwhile they've given her chance after chance, and when they simply ask for more time....she freaks out and says that they are pushing her out of Wiley's life. It's mind numbing.

rkm137 - I disagree, and I do not appreciate you saying I misrepresented anything.

Nina said Wiley asked her. Even you admit that she said that. Now, if you think the character lied, that's one thing but don't say I'm misrepresenting things when I just went w/the scripted dialogue.

lala214 It is a misrepresentation because while technically factual, it distorts the context. It would be like if you asked me what I had for breakfast and I answered coffee and fruit. But in reality I had coffee, fruit, French toast, and eggs. Sure, what I said was true but it's also a misrepresentation. Truth ≠ accurate.

It was also scripted dialogue that Nina brought up the topic to a child who did not seem inclined to question her presence.

Michael and Willow are only out for revenge. Until those two stop on their own or the court forces them to allow visitation we are going to be stuck with this. All Carly knows is revenge so nothing will change on that front.

If all they want is revenge, they should ask Nina for a few pointers because they are amateurs compared to her major league vengefulness. Forcing a woman into premature labor, leaving her alone on the floor, and stealing her baby, and allowing a family including small children to grieve for months for a guy who isn't dead are two of the nastiest revenge stunts I have ever seen on a soap. Not letting a delusional vengeful witch near your child on her own terms doesn't even come close.

This is so untrue. Michael and Willow are two of the most forgiving characters in the soap world. They've forgiven things I would never forgive like the fact that Sonny murdered Michael's father and Harmony drugged, branded and facilitated the rape of Willow by Shiloh.

Last I checked, Nina asked for supervised visits but was denied even that so she took it to a judge. What else could she do? I’m almost positive she loses so most here should be happy.

She definitely did OLTL'69 . . . . not sure of the episode though. I remember her saying, "You can even supervise me if that makes you feel better," and they still said no. They will always say no. I think she understands that, which is why she took it to court.

Nina asked for that the first time Michael cut her off for overstepping, before someone told her she had rights. Since then, she’s sung a different tune. She told Carly she wouldn’t rest until she was allowed to see Wiley as much as she was, which is certainly not supervised.

You could be right. I don't know. I just remember her offering it up as an option and I thought it happened after NF.

I honestly don't care about Wiley. As a family attorney, I find this entire drama silly. It's hard for me to get invested, esp. when I don't see the harm in letting Nina visit w/that kid. That's eventually where this waste of time story (IMO) is leading anyway. Willow and Nina bonding and Nina visiting w/Wiley.

But if you're enjoying this story - that's cool! It's just not one that interests me when I know how it eventually ends.

I would like for Nina to just move on. If the Wiley remembers her when he grows up he will seek her out. Let Carly, Michael and Willow raise him. Dante has been telling both Michael and Sonny to mend their relationship but I don't recall him telling Michael to let Nina have visitation with Wiley. I would have to look for clips to find where Dante has ever mentioned Wiley's name if I were interested enough in this. Besides Sonny who else has told Michael he should let Nina see the child?

I couldn't agree more. I would love for her to just forget about Wiley.

And no one has told Michael to let Nina see Wiley except for Sonny.

Nina saw Wiley ONCE during all her time in NF. She was not pursuing any right to see Wiley and was perfectly content to stay with Mike. It was only when her secret came out did she steal another visit with Wiley before Michael and Willow learned of her actions. Then once Sonny was back in PC, Nina only then started talking about missing needing Wiley in her life. BS. If Jax had not blackmailed Michael, Nina would STILL be in NF with Mike and not trying to see Wiley.

You can't compromise with Nina. She wants what she wants when she wants it. When she was finding love in Nixon Falls she could have cared less about Wiley. Now he's back on her radar and she's going for the jugular for her "rights".

Willow is no more Wiley's mother IMO than a stranger on the street - Wiley is simply the child she used to replace her baby with IMO.

That is absolutely NOT true. Willow has been a constant and consistent mother figure to Wiley since the day he was born. And now she is LEGALLY his mother as well. She is the one who feeds him, changes him, dresses him, bathes him, plays with him, laughs with him, reads him stories, comforts him when he's sad. She and Michael are Wiley's absolute safety, comfort, and security right now. She loves that little boy with all her heart - and he feels the same.

They have a FOREVER bond now.

Their idea of compromise was Nina sign over all rights she has as a grandmother, and then trust them to let her see him...someday. That seems fair and reasonable from that flock of liars.

Not true. First of all, Nina can’t sign over her rights because she has no rights. The only right she had was the right to petition, and that can’t be signed away. What Willow asked for was time to deal with everything she’d put on them before discussing visitation again. Nina wasn’t willing to do that. She wasn’t willing to wait, which is interesting because she had no problem waiting four to five months at a clip while she was taking advantage of an amnesiac.

She has rights and is exercising them in court. 100 percent Willow made the offer that she sign paperwork agreeing to give up her grandparentel rights and they would consider letting Nina see Wiley as some date when Michael deems it appropriate.
