    How can Sonny tolerate Nina?

She has put so much distance - intentionally - between him and his family. Friday just got worse. Michael never should've gone to prison for saving his baby sister and his mother but he paid a high price for it anyway. Sonny should be painfully aware of this - didn't they feel Michael got a harsh sentence at the time because he was a Corinthos? I expected Sonny to spit in Nina's face - not touch it - was he really okay with her or was that a kiss off?

This was the same Sonny that told Nina to go for the jugular against his own son.

Nothing new or nice, just a selfish man putting his latest POA in front of his family’s well being!

Michael paid the ultimate price for the Sins of his father. This man calling himself Sonny is not Sonny. Don’t know who he is, but he doesn’t resemble anyone I recognize and certainly not the father of Michael Corinthos.

Sonny is not Michael's biological father AJ was. And AJ was constantly fighting for Michaels parentage, but Sonny, Jason and Carly fought him in every way possible!

I know who’s Michael father is and biology has nothing to do with him. Michael sees Sonny as his father, period. He Ioves him as a father and is disappointed and rocked to his core by

his fathers inaction to protect his family and punish those who hurt them. Not only did Michaels father not punish the trash, he climbed into bed with it. Michaels over his father and is not going to allow his son Wiley to pay for Sonny’s lack of judgement when it comes to Nina. Micheal went to prison and was raped because of Sonny choices to hide him and the truth about his other crazy choice of partner/wife Claudia Zachary’s justifiable death.

AJ didn’t deserve Michael anymore than Sonny. He was alive and well for years somewhere not fighting for Michael. He kidnapped Michael/siblings and pretended as if he had been murdered, told him his family didn’t want him, then let him think he murdered someone else. He’s just as selfish as Sonny!!!

Sonny liked his Life in Nixon Falls. He was happy there. He fell in love with Nina. He really likes and that life he had in Nixon Fall. He doesn't see Nina the way Carly and Michael do.

If nothing else, Sonny knows what Nina has done to his family. "Mike" would not like that behavior either.

Sonny is putting his lust and ego ahead of his family. I think he tolerates Nina because if he was really honest with himself there’s no way he would be okay with what Nina did inNF or what she is now doing to his son. I think Sonny feels admitting Nina hurt him/his family would mean he was a victim and Sonny’s ego won’t allow that.

I think this is exactly it. Sonny is too egotistical to admit he was victimized. And he is too narcissistic to recognize that his feelings are not the only feelings that exist in the world. Basically he is like "if I wasn't hurt, nobody was hurt, nobody's pain matters but mine". Ugh, wish they would ride back to NF on her broomstick!

I have to ask, how do they tolerate each other? I have never seen such a disgusting and vile couple. As gross as Sonny and Emily were at least Emily was still a sweetheart and tried to help Sonny. Nina has done what no other woman in Sonny's life has been able to do, make Sonny not only turn against his family, but actively go out of his way to hurt them. Sonny has been at odds with family members in the past but he has not openly supported someone purposely going after his loved ones. This new Sonny is a pathetic little man.

DayRose, said perfectly well. The way he seems to be going after Michael, his own son, is heartbreaking. I don't care about their argument, a father's love should be as unconditional as a mother's.

She's a dream compared to his constantly having to fight it out with his now ex-wife. I don't think I've seen them fight at all in the last year.

Don’t remember Carly and Sonny arguing recently about anything other then his inappropriate relationship with his violator Nina. Before he went missing they were happier than ever, in agreement Nina should never know about Nellie. You can definitely have a more peaceful relationship when your not lying to, trying to manipulate or gaslighting your partner maybe Sonny should have tried that instead of taking the easy road out. Also, Sonny has no responsibility to Nina he doesn’t have to be live by a code and put family first, he can just be his regular junk yard dog self, for his trashy girlfriend Nina who just wants to dirty dance in bar where they tell each other how perfect they are and how not wrong they are. Literally lying to themselves and each other, again those relationships are always easy.

I don't see Nina trying to put distance between Sonny and his family. She just doesn't accept distance between herself and her own family and everyone would have come together if she were allowed supervised visits.

She didn't want Sonny to testify and the hearing was just her last ditch effort to be able to visit her family.

believeinme246 I think what a lot of people tend to forget is that Nina isn't the same age mentally or emotionally as she is physically. When she was in that coma for 20 years she didn't mature mentally or emotionally like she did physically. So everyone expects her to have the same actions/responses of someone her physical age. But, she isn't going to have that. She's going to be acting like someone twenty years younger than that. A coma is a deeply traumatizing thing (I speak from experience), and a 20 year coma is unthinkable at the amount of trauma that must've inflicted on her.

Nina is a good person. She was looking for her baby since she came out of coma, Carly kept silence about Nell. Now she keeps silent about Willow. I have a feeling that Nina won't learn about her other daughter for a year or so.

In my opinion "Mike didn't want to know who he is" was a lame excuse Nina used to do what she really wanted to do, which was to hurt Carly as much as possible by letting her to continue to grieve for a not-really-dead husband. All Nina had to say to Smikey was "I know who you are and where you come from, and your family misses you. Want me to tell you the deets?" If he said NO then, OK. But she didn't do that because she wanted to play fantasy true love and stick it to Carly as much and as long as possible.

When a woman is isolated from her family we call the man abusive. Sonny is in an abusive relationship and is too messed in the head to get it. Nina is taking advantage of a man with a TBI. She is really quite disgusting.

Nina actively kept Sonny from seeing a single person that might recognize him, to the point where she hung up on Wiley when Sonny entered the room because Willow would have seen him. That is absolutely isolation.

She absolutely isolated him.. and if the roles were reversed he would be accused of being abusive.. So I am saying Nina is abusive.

Fightcrab I see that as blaming the victim. Mike had a head injury and was also a bipolar person off their drugs or on different drugs than before. I think he lacked the capacity and the information he needed to make an informed decision or to give "consent" to leaving his old life and his family, including two small children, behind and starting a new life as a barkeep and a Nina worshipper in NF.

I love the double standard. Carly didn't intentionally hurt her kids, she just lied through her teeth to them because she thought she was doing the right thing. Nina did intentionally hurt Sonny's kids, doing the same thing Carly did. Nina thought she was doing the right thing for Sonny, who was telling her he didn't want to know anything about his past. Nina also knew that Sonny's prior life was one filled with crime and violence that put his family in constant danger. That's why Jax was so happy Sonny was gone. He thought it made Joss safer. But of course Carly had to be a mobster herself so it made Joss get in even more danger to the point she couldn't even go to school without armed guards following her.

Bottom line, Carly and Nina did the same thing. They kept secrets because in their own warped way of thinking they thought it was the right thing. But the Carly lovers will literally forgive anything she does.

Manninglover87 Carly knew what she was doing was harmful to Michael. That's why she uncharacteristically shut her mouth. If she didn't know then she is a complete idiot and even more stupid then previously thought.

Carly knew that finding out what Sonny did period was going to hurt Michael. That’s what she as trying to avoid. She was trying to spare Michael the pain of losing another father. Again, I don’t support what she did, and Michael was one hundred percent justified in cutting her out of his life, but the point is that she was trying to spare Michael pain, not cause it.

From the beginning of the love of Mike and Nina in Nixon Falls I always wondered "what the heck do either of them see in the other?" Even before they know the worst of each other. I wondered if Nina enjoyed Mike being jealous and going after Elijah? I guess "Mike" was just lonely and went after the first woman he met other than married Phylis. (Now I know in theory there must have been women patrons of the Tan-O but we did not see them
But I did not see much about Nina to attract the guys except she was someone new. And "Mike was as judgmental and trigger happy as Sonny"

When "Mike" first arrived in NF, he had that dream of a blond woman walking away, and when Nina showed up, he thought she was the blond woman. Obviously he was remembering Carly, but he saw Nina and thought it was her.

in NF sonny/mike keep hving a dream about a blonde woman he kept trying to get to her but couldn't and he could never see her face....when he saw nina later he told cARly he thought she was the woman in the dream and I think, on an unconscious level she seemed familiar to him......but when he remembered who he was , the head of the mob with no memory this could have been a huge disaster and put his family and him in danger he should have been angry....and all 3 of them should have gotten immediate counseling to deal with this whole situation

Honest question: does anyone remember what they talked about in Nixon Falls? I mean Nina mentioned her grandkid right? It was all about her because he had - well absolutely nothing to talk about.
So what exactly do they talk about now? It's all NF talk and Wiley but what else? Like do they even know each other at all? Can she name one thing he likes? What about him, what does he know of her?

To me it seems to be one of the most shallow "romances" of the show. I'm not trying to be mean I just have no idea of them as a couple.

I mean I have more connection to the Corinthos Moss Bowl than these two do with each other.

december rose Because he wasn't looking for himself. He was specifically looking for Elijah. There's a VERY big difference in doing a background check on someone and searching for the identity for a missing person. It's not even remotely the same procedure.

Fightcrab so the only thing that really involves them as a couple is the dancing. Again, does she talk about Nathan or Madline? Hell she got more personal when talking to Willow when she was trying to get more playdates with Wiley.

I have to wonder if the only reason the writers are having talk only about NF in the past is *because* they are stuck in the past.

I don't get why Sonnys is considered being so horrible for wanting Nina when Carly did the same thing by choosing to have an intimate relationship with Franco. And unlike sonny, Carly knew who Franco was from the very beginning of her relationship with him. Is the pain Nina caused any worse than the pain that Franco caused? It is interesting that Michael was easily able to forgive Carly for her betrayal, but he is ready to totally cut Sonny out of his life, to even destory Sonny.

I know Sonny is mad at Michael now. But I find it hard to believe that he no longer cares about him. When he saw Scotty rip into Michael about Claudia - another delusional woman he brought into his kids' lives - I can't believe that we are supposed to accept that he is okay with that.

Sonny and Scotty have always hated each other. now they are buddy buddy and attacking his son.

        BS!

I think Sonny is going to justify Nina having her lawyer bring up Claudia by saying "Michael's a grown man, he should have just given Nina access to Wiley." But of course Sonny is all over the place. In his testimony, he contradicted himself several times. He said Michael and Willow got to decide who sees Wiley -- then why was he testifying? He said what Nina did was "unforgivable" -- then he said that he had forgiven her. The kindest thing I can say is that this is not a man who is thinking clearly.

I am still half wondering if Scotty tearing into Michael's justified killing of Claudia will finally turn the tide for Sonny. How can he stand for Michael to be tormented over something like that? Sonny touched Nina's face but then he left the courtroom - he didn't stay for her. I am afraid I might be giving the writers too much credit but I'd like Sonny to come out of his stupor.

I wondered the same thing - for a second taramartin. They showed his face during the testimony. He didn't look happy. I can't imagine anyone - especially a parent - wanting someone to have to relive that experience. But, Sonny did tell her go all in. We'll see.
