Scott could have called Valentine, Sasha, Maxie or Phyllis as witnesses for Nina

Not Sonny or attacking the opposing side. Scott should have let the other side attack and he should have focused on showing Nina in a good light.

It sounds like it might have been Nina’s idea to attack Michael, but even if it was, I agree it was Scott’s own fault. He should’ve told that attacking the other side would not help her. Scott came across as completely incompetent.

The both had a plan and it was more on Scott side to guide her if that was a good plan or bad.

In fact … Scott called Sonny without Nina’s approval.

So if Sonny wouldn’t have spoken what would have been Scott’s case?

Nina gave her approval. Sonny said (insisted) put me on the stand. At first, Nina said no, and Sonny insisted and Nina relented.

It appears that Nina took Sonny's advice and told Scotty to go for the jugular. Scotty did it, and regretted it, hence the great comment.

I don't want Nina to win but I think Scotty would have been better to play up Nina's good side instead of attacking Michael.

When grandma colors with her grandson she develops a bond with him. Or when she reads him books. What else do you expect a grandma should be doing with her grandchild? Maybe he does not need his adoptive mother, as his nanny can do all the child care? I bet he spends more time with nanny than with his parents.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that Wiley doesn’t spend plenty of time with his mother. In fact, the opposite is true. Wiley has been shown to be very attached and loving to his mother, which suggests that she is very much a constant in his day to day life. Nina, however, he seems just without, which makes sense, given that she only went to see him twice in a six month period.

I agree that Scott would have done better if he could have shown why having Nina in his life would be a benefit to Wiley. But I don't think there is a Reeves family business, other than they are all criminals (Dr. O, Britt, Madeline, even Nathan shot and nearly killed someone in a jealous rage). Nina only became managing editor of Crimson because Julian wanted someone who would tank the business, and everything Nina knows about running a magazine she learned from Maxie. Madeline West Reeves didn't seem to work, and I don't think we ever learned how her husband, who was the moneybags, acquired his wealth, which he left to Nina.

I thought Scott was very smart when he asked who were other Wiley's grandparents. He also mentioned double standard. That was something new comparing what Dianne said.

scott chose to take the low road, no one twisted his arm. he asked nina if she was “all in” so to me that was his decision and should not snark at his client for gis own strategy . i hope he loses the case - i don’t like him or nina

This is all on Scotty. He chose to represent Nina, he's a long practicing attorney, he knew what he was doing.
