Not necessarily. Scott is as good as the writing wants him to be and he is often very effective as a criminal defense attorney. The problem with Nina's visitation application is that it Scotty really didn't have much to work with. The only person who wanted to testify for Nina was Sonny and nearly every arguably bad Michael has ever done originated with his father. And Nina had royally screwed over Michael and his family. It was going to be hard to minimize that. So Scotty went for an illusion of parity and hypocrisy which, thin even as an emotional argument, was legally moot for the purposes of Nina's petition.

I literally laughed through most of Scott's scenes. It was completely ridiculous. I think even hew knows at this point that he's given subpar services and that he's going to lose this case.

I agree with you. I think Trina is headed for jail time. I don’t think Scotty is going to win her case for her.

Between Spencer trying to "prove" her innocence and Scotty's...meltdown today...I'm just glad Carly and Portia and Ava are like dogs with a bone. They will hunt Esme down and lock the jail doors personally.

Too bad Diane isn't her lawyer. I would love to see her question Esme on the stand!

Never fear, Super Spencer will come to the rescue.

I'd prefer it to be Rory. He's got the brains that Spencer seems to have lost somewhere.

You'd think when Spencer found those pills, he might get the idea to go back to the cabin and look for more evidence. I think Esme dropped a pill there.

Well, the writers can't have Spencer be too smart of Esme's reign of terror would end. They need her to seduce Nikolas before Spencer figures that out.

Somehow the truth will come out and we'll see the last of Esme.

Maybe Rory or Spinelli will look at surveillance video and see Esme standing in front of Kelly's holding the phone box in one hand and the pills in the other, staring at the box for a minute, then throwing it in the trashcan.

I like this comment. The writing can be somewhat goofy at times -- and he's been faced with an almost insurmountable situation --
but I'm not ready to count ♥Scotty out yet.

There is no real lawyering to analyze or discuss. GH writes to the PLOT, not the character. Nina is destined to LOSE. Trina is destined to WIN. Scotty, or any lawyer, is irrelevant.

If Esme is begin investigated by the school, why is Trina even being charged at this point? Why hasn't Spinelli cracked the case? Shouldn't Scott be crafting a defense for Trina *now* instead of waiting until the morning of her trial?

I mean, this is a young woman that HARMONY had concerns about.

Eh, I didn't think it was terrible. Theatrical? Sure. But he is hamstrung by Nina's antics in Nixon Falls. I think he could've made a point about Michael using children to get back at people he's angry with. Why Scott let him slide on that BS about "protecting Avery" when Sonny couldn't provide a stable home is beyond me. He did it out of revenge, pure and simple.

Trina does have the benefit of being innocent.
