Didn't Nina run around town asking a few people to be character witnesses? Their only witness in Sonny? Wouldn't Phyllis, Britt, Maxie, or Shawn all be better witness for Nina?

Today was one for the books as far as it goes: Scotty appeared to be closing his portion of the trial, with Sonny begging Scotty (and Nina) to put him on the stand. No Ava, no Britt, no Liesl, no Maxie (well, she left). And Nina's basis of her petition was I love my grandson and I want to be aprt of his life, with Scotty. Just wow - if I was Nina, I would fire Scotty. SMH at the poor representation.

Really disappointing. What was the point if all it was going to be is another recitation of Nina's actions after Nelle's death? It wasn't even a decent recap of all the reasons Michael would have to distrust Nina. SMH. This is why GH fails as a "drama". It sets up a juicy situation, spends MONTHS dragging it out, and then folds up like a cheap tent at the slightest breeze. Imagine penning "OH NO....Nina cries because Michael's lawyer cross examines her and makes her ADMIT she lied about Sonny being alive in Nixon Falls." WHEN SHE'S BEEN CONFRONTED BY THAT NEARLY DAILY FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS.

Actually, Scotty keeping it short and simple and focusing on Nina's love for Wiley puts her in the best light. This way it will make Michael & Willow seem vicious and vengeful when they attack Nina's character. The issue should be on whether she is a danger to Wiley, which she is not!

ScamiSami Totally agree! Scotty used the KISS technique - Keep It Simple, Stupid - and I think it was the best decision.

But Scott should've been prepared to call other witnesses. Other than Sonny, no one even showed up to support her. Granted, Nina's support system (Britt, Liesl, Ava, namely) have credibility issues of their own...but at least Phyllis could've shown up.

No Phyllis she is the one who knows and kept a lot of the facts to herself. After all that they ignor her.
WTH! I keep asking why am I watching this show. Not waiting months to see when Nina finds out
who her daughter is. Drag Dragging it out.

Even though many of of predicted or wishfully thought years ago that Nina would end up being Willow's mother, I think they decided to go with that last minute once Inga (Harmony) was leaving the show. They usually tie characters to family by blood and Willow would have no blood relative when Harmony left.

They spent a few episodes with Nina running around town asking people to testify. Yet no one shows up except the mob leader

Maybe all her cheerleaders who prop her and tell her she did nothing wrong feel a little different about making those statements under oath? Seems like they could at least put Maxie on the stand. Although then Diane could ask her about how she felt when she learned that the warm hearted, child loving Nina put James at risk by covering for Peter so her fantasy land in NF would not be revealed...
