As his attorney and overlooking the conflict of interest here.. Diane has always qeustion sonny in court as HIS attorney but now he is the witness so I will be interested to see her question him as the not so friendly attorney...
-
I hope she mortal Kombat him. I don’t think she will bring up his business and what not tho.

I have no faith in these writers so I'm expecting it to be a bore. With more of Sonny's revisionist history. But hey, maybe Sonny will be stupid enough to admit that he pawned his wedding ring for the Tano. He told Carly he "lost" it. Maybe he will also admit that he didn't care about finding his family once Nina came along. That should free Michael and Carly from his orbit once and for all.

I would love to see Diane tear Sonny a new one but I have no faith in the writers anymore. Nina is like Peter all over again, she must win no matter what.

I can't stand Diane any more. She seems to have forgotten who got her to where she is now. It was Sonny, not Carly and Michael. Talk about disloyalty.

I am sure Diane never expected Sonny to testify against his son.

"Sonny got her where she is now?" No, he didn't. Her brilliant work as a top notch attorney got SONNY where he is now - which is out of prison, and she has kept him out of prison due to her knowledge and skills. Let's be clear - Diane does not need Sonny Corinthos at all because she can find work anywhere. She makes money from him, but she'll continue to make money if he ever fires her. HE, on the other hand, may end up in a prison cell with a different attorney. Sonny has kept Diane because she serves HIS purposes, not the other way around. There is zero disloyalty. Sonny knows that Diane is Michael's attorney. He didn't shut it down, and frankly, he can't. Diane can do what she wants, and it is Sonny's choice to be placed on the witness stand. Diane is not going to just not cross-examine him because he's a client. Again, Sonny made the decision, not Diane and not Michael. The person being disloyal is Sonny.

In reality, she should recuse herself. She would be disbarred from using information she was privy to from representing him, it is protected by attorney/client privilege.

She doesn’t have to use privileged material to rip Sonny apart. All she has to use is what’s in the media and his many arrests. That’s all a matter a matter of public record. While it’s true, in real life, it would be a conflict of interest, no soap lawyer seems to follow those rules. Scott literally prosecuted Lulu for his son’s murder.

Diane can absolutely cross-examine Sonny as long as she doesn't bring up anything related to business she is aware of, and unless she does that (which I doubt). Sonny is the person putting himself on the stand knowing that Diane is Michael's lawyer. What? Does he expect her to NOT cross-examine him because he's a client? THAT would be a reason for being disbarred in not giving Michael the full representation that he is expecting from his attorney. For her to side with Sonny, in any way, would be a breach of her providing Michael with a sound defense. Diane can bring up NF and what Nina did to Sonny and his family as much as she wants. It breaks no attorney/client privilege.

Diane has made it clear multiple times that she can't work for Carly/Michael against Sonny. She would have to recuse herself. She actually loves Sonny and he's the one who has wrote the checks for her for a long time. Her even doing the questioning would be inappropriate and no way she is going to mention criminal activity, as she's the one who's always proclaiming his innocence.

Emotionally, maybe, but that means nothing in a court of law. For the purposes of the the court, he is nothing but a witness.
-
-
Manninglover87 people are suggesting she frame Sonny as a criminal when he gets on the stand. She'd be disbarred for that.
-
-
She wouldn’t be disbarred for mentioning things that are a matter of public record. For instance, Sonny’s a convicted murderer. That’s not privileged because it’s public knowledge. She can’t discuss anything he’s said to her as his attorney, but there is plenty of public knowledge that she can use.

so glad that diane will ask sonny why they should they trust his judgement when it comes to nina

SAMLEXIS FAN He can repeat that same lame story, but this time there are going to be follow-up questions, the judge just isn't going to say okay, the case is closed. Ninas abuse of Sonny is important to this case and Sonny's inaction and lack of an appropriate response to being "manipulated" by Nina shows there is something wrong with his judgement and therefore anything he says in support of Nina when it comes to Wiley should be ignored. This storyline has not done the character of Sonny any favors, he just seems feeble-minded now!
-
-
MYA Nina didn't abuse Sonny. Sonny already stated he doesn't see himself as a victim. Sonny developed strong feelings for Nina while he was "Mike." He still has a part of "Mike" inside of him. Therefore, he can't shut off those feelings no matter what. I'm sure the judge will understand where Sonny is coming from while he was suffering from amnesia.

I was not impressed with Diane's approach today. going after Nina for being vengeful would not have been the way I would have gone. I think she should have asked Nina if she cared so much about Wiley, why did she spend 6 months in NF, away from him, keeping his grandfather away from him and the rest of his family?

That is what I thought - Diane blows hot and cold as an attorney, IMO.
-
-
She stayed away from him, because Michael and Willow through a snit fit about when she told him about Nelle, and banned her from seeing him. As soon as Jax blackmailed Michael into letting her see him she made her way back to PC to visit him.
-
-
And Nina's response to that question would be his father banned her from Wiley's life. Otherwise, she would have been in Wiley's life. As far as Sonny being kept from Wiley goes, Wiley isn't even on Sonny's radar. He hasn't asked about him nor gone to see him at the gatehouse to spend time with him. The only time he brings up Wiley is when the visitation hearing was discussed. So I doubt Sonny's absence had an effect on Wiley since he hardly sees him anyways.

Sonny can handle Diane. I'm all for him testifying against his family of vultures. Nina shouldn't be kept away from her grandson.

If it were up to nina, Sonny would have never seen his children again

Shellyinphx Wrong, you're forgetting that near the end she was encouraging him to go figure out who he really was, but Sonny was adamantly against it. She was the one that wanted to put the breaks on things, until he figured out who he really was.

Mariko - Sonny owns not actively looking, but Nina was the one that was going out of her way to keep Sonny a secret. Telling Sonny to search for answers while desperately telling Jax not to say anything is a perfect example of her SAYING one thing and DOING another. Actions speak louder than words. Nina, in every opportunity where the truth might get out, made sure that it did not. Telling Jax he was seeing things, getting rid of Trina, being blackmailed by Peter, etc. Nina would absolutely have kept Sonny away from his family for the rest of his life. Sonny was also furious with Nina when he first got his memory back, and then I think the writers did a 180 and had him vacillate. It was weird.
