In addition to all the things I dislike about Sonny, I really hate how they write him as a "Bully", as in the way he scared the guy who was bothering Nina. He has done this before and in the light that real "Bullys" have done serious damage I think this should not be looked at as it being OK.

CLOUDFARE Security Message
Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.
This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.
Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.
The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

A major thing I dislike about Sonny is how they write him as a "Bully"

Thats why i enjoyed Sonny as Mike in NF yes he was assertive and always looked out for the people he loved like Phylis, Lenny and Nina but he wasn't an entitled thug like he is now
and the way he treats Michael (a character i have gtrown to dislike so much btw) infuriates me. There is little trace of who Nina fell in love with in NF.

Also, he's been a bully since he showed up in town. This behavior is not new or out of character for him
This is true, but them using it and him, and taking up so much air time is enough to get me off General Hospital.

One thing I did like about Sonny is that he is a bully. He is a mobster, so him being a bully goes without saying, but also it opened up another aspect of him; that is he absolutely compensating for something. That's always what drew me to Sonny. He could be a real bully and fly off the handle with little provocation, but he could also be sweet and caring when need be. I have always noticed that he has a lot of rage and pain in his eyes, but OTOH, he doesn't want people to see him as "weak" or "vulnerable", although he does have those characteristics. I think he is a bully, but sometimes it's a front and he goes over the top with it.
But I do agree with you, I don't particularly like bullies in general, not trying to give Sonny a pass or anything.Last edited by MiguelnCharity; May 20, 2022, 12:05 PM.

Not that Nina deserves any consideration, but I didn't see anything unreasonable in how Sonny dealt with the guy. He was harassing her, and Sonny stepped in to defend her (again, she doesn't deserve it, but...). He didn't scream or beat up the guy, he just quietly but firmly warned him against continuing to harass a "lady." Being protective is just who Sonny is.

The original Sonny was a bully. He bullied AJ into giving up his rights to Michael to Carly. He was angry, he manipulated women, he broke lots of barware. He is the reason I stopped watching for ten years.
The original Sonny was not a nice character, even with his moral code.
Sonny has mellowed over the years - the post NF Sonny is more like the Original.

I hate it because it's such a joke. There's nothing intimidating about Sonny and the premise that he scares anyone is really irritating. Especially because the writers insist on hammering it home every other week. Every week, or two they try to create a situation for Sonny to show how powerful he is and it just comes across as what it is, contrived and unnecessary.
Nina is a grown woman and she chose to go to the Savoy knowing the article about her had just ran. Am I really suppose to believe he needs Sonny to protect her from someone who was just running his mouth?
