he be brought back as Jason Morgan found alive (and had been kept prisoner all this time, yada, yada), or what would you think about him being a totally new character - maybe if they did a crossover of him as his character from Y&R Dylan McAvoy. Remember, Dylon (a former police officer), left Y&R after being put in witness protection after killing a mob guy in a bust gone wrong. What if he happened to come through Port Charles, completely oblivious to his being a doppleganger for Jason Morgan, and they go from there? He could be a "good guy" with "bad guy" undertones, could play more emotion ranges than what he could as "Stone Cold", have new relationships, could be tested with any number of of the women on the canvas. I think it would be a good way to leave the dead end character of Jason Morgan behind.

NOT A SPOILER-just curious, but if Steve Burton returned to GH, would you rather...

I would prefer the character of Jason return as Jason. I feel that he is needed, I also feel that he was needed for the sunny Nina Carley storyline which ends up being garbage right now. I don't care what anybody else says, I love Steve Burton, I love the character of Jason and I want this character back. Even if they have to temporarily recast, which is what they should have done, I feel he is needed

Absolutely no return!
He's played out
If he was brought back, it would have to be as a completely different character including hair color, personality, voice, etc.
Just my opinion.Last edited by JCmojoe81; May 20, 2022, 10:21 AM. Reason: please focus your comments on your opinion and not what you believe other people do or do not want

I would love for Steve to return, and I want him to return as Jason. The character is too iconic to GH for him to be a different character. Anthony Geary tried it, and it flopped badly. If Steve comes back, and I wish he would, I would want him back as Jason, and I would love him with Britt.

This fan wants him to return to as Jason Morgan.
No body - he can return.
The set up - CarSon is divorced, the Jarly angst is easy revived, and Sonny would be distrustful of his Best friend/ second in command.
The above scenario is good soapy viewing - IF it were to happen.Last edited by OLTLBoomer; May 20, 2022, 11:46 AM. Reason: oops - I meant to type Sonny. Haas been corrected.

Are we really nearing thirty years of Jason Morgan, the most irrelevant flop of a character in all of television and motion picture history?
The only episode he was watchable in was when he was kicked into the icy waters of the Port Charles Harbor. It's too bad he didn't have the Ice Princess attached to his foot.
If Steve Burton has to return, if the Olympian deities command it, let him come back as Jason Morgan's ghost, invisible to all but audible for a single word: Boo! Let him go around booing people (starting with Liz, of course, just for fun). Invisible to the audience would be even nicer, with just a voice cameo - Boo! - now and then.

Or if they were dead set on bringing him back as Jason, they could just bring him back and actually show some growth with the character. No need to bring him back as someone different to do write differently for him

If he came back I would rather it be as Jason Q. Jason M lost relevance a looong time ago. I have no interest in watching an over the hill hitman. I do kind of feel that Jason has left some loose ends that could use some tying up - but nothing major. I don’t miss him at ALL.

Grandedecaf I want him back as Jason. But I like your concept of the new character. I wish he would come back acting like that, but still be Jason. Hey, Sonny was profoundly changed from his absence so Jason should be too.

Jason should have stayed dead the first time. A hitman should not be written as a sympathetic character or romantic lead.
The only way I'd want a Jason return is if he decided to quit the mob, all criminal and killing activity, to be a better man and role model for his children. Maybe he could be an adjunct to police enforcement.
SB seems like a good guy, but I'm not a fan of returns as a different character. There's a world of parts to play out there, and lots of shows to follow him in.

I think Jason M is boring and played out. I have no interest in seeing him on screen looking constipated and saying basically nothing but "yes, Sonny" and "yes, Carly." He's boring and one note at this point. If SBu comes back, the character of Jason needs something for a storyline that is strong and interesting. I've thought for a long time he should have an "accident" (this will work for what just happened to him) where his old memories come back along with Jason Q's thoughts and feelings but he retains Jason M's thoughts, feelings and memories as well. The characters were so different that I think it would be really interesting to see Jason Q struggle with what he became and Jason M struggle with the conscience and life desires that Jason Q had. It could make for a very interesting and long term story for SBu and allow him a chance to play a different character and the same character.Last edited by ZanneMarie; May 20, 2022, 11:12 AM.

Yup, I want him to have a conscience and to be absolutely haunted by what he did for Carson. I want him to make restitution to the families of his victims, to repudiate his actions, and to turn over a new leaf.

Ooh! I like your idea very much! This would be a great way to have him come back, and I must say, I think the hybrid Jason would be vastly more interesting to portray for SB!
