I have wanted to know just how is Sonny and Carly's divorce really any of Michael's business. How is Sonny's forgiveness of Nina, his attitude toward Nina or any relationship Sonny now has or does not have with Nina any of Michael's business, especially since Carly divorced Sonny. I cannot remember, but was it ever made clear that independent of Nina's non action of telling the Corinthos' about Sonny or telling "Mike" Who he was that "Mike" made the choice not to try and pursue who he really was/attempt to get his memory back. He did not want to know. Anyway, imo, Michael is behaving like Sonny cheated on him personally.

Taylor - Michael's anger is not just about Carly. Again, Sonny and Nina are coming for Michael's son. Is Michael suppose to be okay with that, especially since the woman who is coming for his son is Nina, the same woman who literally imploded his family and caused them trauma and grief. I think people are focusing too much on Carly and not taking into account that Nina is targeting Michael's son. Do you really think Sonny would be okay with that if the table's were turned and say Ava was coming for Avery? Of course not. Michael is absolutely entitled to come out swinging.

They're not 'coming for Michael's son.' No one is taking Wiley away. This isn't about custody, it's about the right to have visits with her flesh and blood. I would think that even supervised visits with a guardian of the court would be acceptable.

I honestly think it has to do with the crumbling of Sonny's "I put my family first" mantra. Here he obviously did not. Michael forgave Sonny for killing his father and sleeping with Ava on his crypt, because Sonny didn't mean to and was out of his mind with grief over Connie (I am not saying that is an excuse, but Michael seemed to have finally bought it). Michael watched his Mom stand by Sonny through all of that "because Sonny loves his family more than anything". I think this is just years of little things building up - if you think about it....Sonny protecting Kate and not him, Sonny marrying Claudia. Sonny trying to kill Jax. I think was the capper - this was the crystal clear proof that Sonny's kids DO NOT matter the most to him. He doesn't care that Nina's lie hurt his kids and grandkids (and there may even be a little low level resentment that apparently Sonny never even looked for his family while in NF).

I love mess, I love garbage, but this story is a whole new monster lol. I think my biggest issue is that Nina is looked at as a victim by so many and the few calling her out on her actions are looked at as villains. Like with Liz/Drew/Sam drama when everyone thought he was Jason and she hid this from Sam - she was rightfully dragged through the mud for her actions and she faced the consequences of her manipulation. Nina just seems to keep avoiding all consequences and everyone keeps bending over backward to make excuses for her while those who are against her are made to look unhinged and vindictive.
Nina lied for months, if Sonny still wants her fine, but I hate the narrative that Michael/Carly and Co. are somehow just bitter and nasty because they're still hurting over the lies and damage Nina caused. Basically I would enjoy this story more if I felt like Nina was paying for her actions. Which is why I'm hoping she loses this request for visitation considering she skated by on the fraud charges.

heddalee - I have been watching since the beginning of Sonny and Carly and that is just not reality. Everyone gets sympathy on this show over Carly - I could list the names - going back to Hannah, Reese, Emily, Kate/Connie. All of them were the perfect angels. Sonny always took their side. Carly was always the bad guy - for a while - and Michael watched his world blow up (or his head blow up) and somehow it was never Sonny's fault. I will NEVER forget Kate lecturing Carly while her son was being wheeled into surgery about how she needed to be there for Sonny or when she told Carly that Sonny was trying to show Michael that he could get out of the business (which he was doing for Kate).

cruella369 I remember that entire scene and then Kate and Sonny both trying to make excuses for him protecting her instinctively over Michael... oh boy. I loved how often Jason would stick up for Carly during this time.
I think those instances vs this one is that Sonny was the only one 'team whoever he was sleeping' with while most everyone else just stayed out of it. With Nina it just feels like so many people are taking her side or making excuses while demonizing Michael/Willow/Carly for wanting to protect their family from her. Big whoop that Nina is Wiley's grandson, didn't seem to matter to her that Sonny was his grandfather.

hurricaneeyes - I remember being annoyed from the moment they had Kate rescue Morgan and get bitten by a snake. SO CONTRIVED. And then Jax invested in Crimson - which made no sense and seemed designed to break Carly and Jax up and pull Carly back into the Sonny orbit (after so much work was done to get her out). I was so mad right before the shooting because Jax cancelled a dinner date with Carly to go on a business trip for Kate so Kate could go on a date with Sonny. It was so stupid when Jax gave 1/2 the hotel to Kate/Connie.

I'm not bothered by Nina either. In fact let them go back to NF with Phylis and start up the Tano 2.0
The funny thing to me is that both MB and LW have said that the writers didn't know how to break up Carson at first b/c the relationship was written to be very strong and they didn't know how to end it at first. Personally I've never been a fan of Sonny's so I was fine with the break up but... I wondered if MB wanted a different character- why not have Sonny be found by Jason and Carly but he's Mike now and they have to adjust to that now? It would be great to see Carly falling in love with again with Sonny in a different way. I dunno why it had be such a traumatic break up is all.

All the writers had to do to make NF work as a story was have it be a local woman "Mike" fell for. Someone who had zero idea who he was. So there was true angst and heartbreak rather than this. The writers can try to push the Nina/Sonny pairing but it won't work for me. It makes Sonny and Nina completely unlikeable as it's written and I hate it.

TalonSun Sure that would've worked fine, I would have bought. To separate Carson, a true separation, the writers decided to go the nuclear direction blowing it all to hell with S&N cheating etc. The problem I think the writers didn't realize is how hated that option would be - the optics of that decision and the viewers believing that Carson will reunite soon - makes this entire storyline not only unbelievable but a complete waste of time onour part. Who wants to be invested in a storyline that goes nowhere has no suspense or romance and ends up back where they started.
Which is why I have this foolish hope that this is the end for Carson at least for another ten years.

Mess is fine, and soap operas have a long history of people falling in love with their victimizers. I also hate when they change the writing for a character to suit the current storyline. that removes any continuity in the character. It seems that Sonny is going through a process of not knowing who he really is anymore...and that's fine...but then it goes to the point of falling for a victimizer. Everyone on the board has discussed how Sonny needs help and Carly was wrong for not supporting him and pushing him to get help. Doesn't the same apply to Nina?
I guess that I don't find that aspect of it interesting anymore. Life is messy enough without people falling in love with those that victimize them. Why can't soaps figure that out?

lala214 I get that, but it just makes the story confusing. Willow may have been drawn to Wiley, but I don't recall Willow ever believing something that didn't exist. Nina will have full dialogue and then have a different scene with the same character and respond as if the dialogue was different from what it was. Maybe it's a writing issue. Sonny has said that he's not her victim, yet we all saw her actively keep his family from knowing that he was alive. Sonny even said that he understood that she did it to get back at Carly...which means that Nina used Sonny to get back at Carly. It's the inconsistency.

Both things can be true. Nina lied to Sonny and didn’t tell him that she knew him. Nina called Carly to tel her but in the end, did not tell her Sonny was in NF.
Sonny told everyone that would listen that he didn’t want to know who he was.
Nina and Sonny fell in love.
It is ALL possible because it’s a soap and real has nothing to do with reel.
Sonny and Nina haven’t spent time together in Port Charles and still like each other. Sonny said he isn’t a victims because he isn’t. He was lied to. Nina didn’t make Sonny do anything. She didn’t hold him captive. Sonny came and went as he pleased. Sonny also did nothing to find out who he really was.
Add to that. Sonny was trying to kill when he eventually fell ???♂️
I like the messy drama. I love that MB loved the change for his character.
Carly got to finally marry Jason ?
Sonny came back to soon is probably what Carly was thinking ????

I missed most of today - just saw the end when Sonny said he would testify for Nina - but I like what I have seen of Sona. I'll go back and watch the Sona and Liz scenes later today. MB and CW had good chemistry AFAIC. I actually liked CarSon at a time but wasn't super invested in them. Their break up is fine w/me but I would have also been fine w/them going to counseling. They are over now so bring on Sona!

I think one reason I am not bothered by Sonny and Nina is because I have always been a Carly fan first and always wanted Carly and Jason together and I keep thinking if Jason would just come back they would have their chance

I agree, it's much more interesting than the same ole same ole with Sonny and Carly for decades. I don't want to watch boring. It's great when they shake things up.

I don't mind them together at all. It's good soapy fun.
After seeing Sonny with a volatile, co-enabling entitled woman for so many years, someone who is always putting the blame on others, it's a pleasure to see him with someone who holds her head up high and who can feel guilt about the way she's handled things in the past. I love how she makes him feel at peace, instead of riled up. Then again, maybe I just prefer their chemistry. and the freshness of their relationship.
Without drama and bizarre scenarios, we would not have a soap. I'm having fun with the way things are.

I hate Carson. I don't mind Sonny and Nina either and I don't care how they came together. Nearly all the adult characters have done bad things so I have come to accept I, like many of the characters, am a hypocrite when it comes to GH. I just like who I like, hate who I hate and just sit back and watch. I don't care if love, hate or indifference is logical or not.

I'm SO with you on the fact that Nina seems to have a calming effect on Sonny. When he's around her he doesn't come across as uptight or on edge as he was around Carly. Not to mention, her actually wanting what's best for him. That's a VERY refreshing sight to see, after his coming back and Carly making it all about her, and how Sonny did HER wrong by having feelings for Nina. Never mind all Sonny had been through.

I just feel no chemistry between them and their romance or whatever it is is very boring since they left NF. Not that NF was action packed but it was better than this snoozefest.
I actually see chemistry between Nina and Curtis but for whatever reason they are friend zoned.Last edited by AnotherSonnyKid; May 19, 2022, 08:30 PM.

I am not bothered by them because I absolutely hated Sonny, Carly and Jason for years. I wish they had it thrown Nina under the bus for this because I like her. I didn't in the beginning and I was one who didn't think the part needed to be recast. Nina has grown on me and I have empathy for her because I know what it is like to have children kept from me. I can actually tolerate Sonny now. I still can't stand Carly.
