This is a question for all the old timers out there who have been watching GH for a while. I remember around November/December 2005, that "Emily" was running around the hospital fantasizing about Sonny. She would be frying some eggs and BOOM, all of a sudden she was having a sexual fantasy about Sonny. She would be talking to Robin at the nail place and BAM, all of a sudden she was having a sexual fantasy about Sonny. Emily would be changing her clothes in the locker room/ironing her clothes and then WHOOSH, she would be whisked away to a sex fantasy about Sonny.
I used to refer to this storyline as "Sonny Days", but I never remember if Sonny and her ever got together. I think Sonny at the time was with Reese, who later died in a train crash or some other such nonsense such as that. Emily, who, up until that point, was a competent, articulate, and level-headed character, just saw Sonny once or twice, and that pushed her ass over the edge and she became a babbling fool, running around having these juvenile fantasies about Sonny. He didn't even really speak to her or give her any indication about anything. Not only that, but Emily was about 22-25 at the time and Sonny was OLD ENOUGH TO BE HER DADDY! It was a very uncomfortable storyline and made Emily look kinda weird. I don't remember what came out of the whole thing, but by the time I tuned back into the whole affair, Emily was running around being held hostage and the like.
This also brings me to my next question. Wasn't Emily responsible for Carly being thrown into the funny farm? I know that Sonny had a hand in that, too. I believe the issue was that Sonny didn't want Carly around Michael or something and got Alexis to fill out the paperwork to get Carly committed. She had to spend the entire Christmas weekend or something at Shady Pines Mental Health Facility or something and didn't get out until damn near New Year's day. I remember this era as this was when they just hired "New Carly" aka Laura Wright who was on Guiding Light way back in the day. Let me tell you this, Tamara Braun is ALWAYS Carly to me, so I may be misremembering why she was even placed in the nuthouse to begin with. I just know that Carly was all sad and crying and looking at pictures of Michael and the other baby. Meanwhile, Sonny and Emily were chilling at Sonny's place that Christmas; sipping wine, trimming the tree, taking in the Christmas snow. It hurt my heart so much that Sonny would do that to Carly over some young girl, but in his defence, Carly was acting all erratic leading up to that. He could have went a different route with it, because it's not like his hands were clean and he hasn't acted erratic before.
