After all that she's done to that family, it's an abomination to have Carly at Leo's party. It bothers me enough when Michael has her or Sonny over at the mansion because I find it terribly disrespectful, but today wasn't about Michael at all, except that he was there as a blood relative. She didn't belong there.

If Michael is a blood relative to Leo ( which I don't think he is) then so is Carly as his mother.

Carly is Olivia's best friend and partner. And the party was at Carly and Olivia's hotel. People in soaps get past stuff that in real life would NEVER be forgiven all the time. Carly and the Qs have loooooong since resolved their issues. And Carly hasn't done anything to them or to interfere with their relationship with Michael is more than a decade.

In a way I have to laugh working at a school because for something that seems to be during the school day and involves it seems all grades there would not be room for everyone to ask all their aunts and uncles and friends of the parents

If the Q's want nothing to do with Carly, perhaps they should find a place other than the business she co-owns to hold their events. Carly is not just the proprietor of the venue, but an invited guest and friend of Olivia, and over the years has developed cordial relationships with most of the other Q's. Monica, who would have a legit reason for resentment, has made her peace with Carly, and frankly, it's not her party, so if she hadn't, that's her problem to deal with.

I get that Carly is the devil incarnate for some, but if everyone who had ever hurt or lied to each other could never interact again, there would be no show left. Certainly no Quartermaine's, because no one has damaged that family more than themselves.

In fairness, this time the show tried to address the kid thing by having Leo mention that he had a kids party already. This is the family party. I presume Rocco, Danny, Scout, and Leo's school friend attended to kids party. Maybe Jake too but he's getting a bit old for that group.

Monica is the longest running actor on the show now and even SHE doesn’t get airtime. There are so many opportunities to involve her in a storyline, even more than just once in a while. She could be a great role model for Leo and also be of support to Portia with her struggles as a mother. All this could be done in the hospital and then at the mansion.

I think LC has chosen to limit her time at GH for health reasons. At least I thought that is what was said when they restarted after COVID shutdowns. She had been sick and unavailable for a time in 2018 as well.

How is Carly being pushed on a place where she's not welcome? The party is at her hotel being thrown by her partner and close friend. Hell, Carly attends parties at the Q mansion with Monica's apparent consent and approval. Carly never tried to "destroy" the Q's whole family. She got on well with Edward and Lily, has always been close with Jason, gave zero F's about Emily, and never interacted much with Alan. Monica and she got into it several times. And obviously Carly did a number on AJ but so did Ned... and Edward... and sometimes also Alan. So this narrative that Carly tried to destroy the family at all is ahistorical.


*Though he really was no innocent. He tried to ruin her too up to and including threatening to have her committed. He was just less effective except when he faked Michael's death.
