Trina getting kicked out of school now?

They need to make this stop. They need to stop bringing Trina down while that slimeball Esme gets away with everything.

Why are they doing this to Trina? Framed, arrested, going to court, and now they are threatening to kick her out of school too?

This is too much for such a good character. I am not happy with this being drawn out for so long with little hope in sight of it ending anytime soon.

I absolutely agree - this is absolutely GABAGE, BS, OTT. plot point writing now.

There hasn't been ONE shred of any REAL evidence that Trina did ANYTHING wrong.

And those pesky FACTS that Trina had NO motivation to do this, the VICTIMS - Joss and Cam have said repeatedly that Trina DIDN'T do it, they pointed to Esme who DID have motivation, forensics completely MISSED Esme's prints and DNA all over the phone, and Jordan HERSELF was WITH Trina at the time the video was posted.............have all just been blatantly ignored and swept under the rug.

The entire viewing audience is supposed to play dumb - and PRETEND that we don't know ANY of this.

    What a load of CRAP.

I'm sick of this story! I hate Trina being treated this way! Let's move this story along and get rid of Esme!

New York State has No Revenge Porn Law... ( releasing sex video without consent ). I just looked it up. Why is Trina charged then if Joss and Cam are not filing a complaint? This whole plot is fodder for wasting time.

New York state does have a revenge porn law, penal law section 245.15. The unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image is a criminal offense in New York. It includes video that was not consensually obtained.

Trina facing expulsion from school is actually the most realistic thing about this story. She's been arrested by police and the district attorney's office is prosecuting. They're going after her under Title IX, but most schools also have an honor code.

Doesn't "innocent until proven guilty" apply in school? Why doesn't the school wait until a court finds her guilty to punish her? It's not Trina's job to prove her innocence. It's the courts job to prove her guilty. Why isn't she consulting Scott about getting kicked out of school?

Title IX does not provide any of the protections to the accused that are required in a criminal prosecution. This is a realistic fear for Trina and Portia that she will be tainted by the proceeding, regardless of the outcome. True story: friend's daughter was falsely accused by a jilted boyfriend of a Title IX offence, had her life turned upside down in the middle of exams, under threat of suspension or expulsion with little opportunity to view the charges before the hearing. Ended up being cleared when the family was able to get a lawyer involved, but not before an important internship was lost because she missed essential deadlines because she was tied up those proceedings and unable to submit until cleared.

Why are the writers ignoring the elephant in the living room? (race) This kind of thing happens to so many black teens every year, mostly young males who are wrongly accused of criminal offences.

Trina is a much better "poster chid" than Shawn was for this type of injustice

I could not believe it when they slapped down that 300-page Title IX review with the threat to expel Trina. I know they have no choice when it comes to university/scholarships, etc., but they are totally loading up on how much trouble she will be in.

They better have a really good reveal when Esme is exposed for this frame-up. I mean a REALLY good one where Trina is completely exonerated of everything, and Esme is the one to go to prison. Nothing else will do.

While I hate the plot holes in this story, I take comfort in two things. First, Trina is getting a story. She's not just an appendage to a Joss story. Secondly, I know that Trina will be exonerated somehow. Probably by Spencer, an idea I am not fond of. I don't want it to be because Spencer gets something on Esme. If he proves Trina's innocence, I want it to be because he sacrifices his freedom by saying he was at the cemetery with her when the video was released. I want it to cost Spencer something. Then I may believe he really cares about Trina.

Wouldn't Trina still get in trouble if Spencer admits he saw her at the cemetery as an accessory after the fact to crime? It would help her with the tape, but Spencer broke out of prison and she didn't say anything. So, he needs to exonerate her without mentioning the cemetery. Unless Jordan recalls she saw Trina there.

We are not required to report crimes. The only glitch might be was when she lied to Jordan when Jordan heard her talking to someone. OF course the idea that she was there with THE COMMISSIONER should be a better alibi than a convict.
(now teachers doctors etc are required to report child abuse)

Many universities are doing this kind of thing to students and if the University receives government money, and the student has a good lawyer, the Universities are having to pay out big bucks! Good! No students should be expelled for accusations without having been found guilty in court.

Horrid as it is and of course the holes of the polices (why would she give over the guilty fake phone if she knew she had two .. Why would she keep it

BUT once the police arrested her the suspension is not surprising

I could see that. She is being investigated for a crime, that crime involves two students at the same university and the video was uploaded on school property.

Yeah even if they aren't ready to expose Esme for whatever reason, they could still at least exonerate Trina already. This stupid amateur plan of Esme's that any decent investigator should've been able to figure out by now, rising to the level of felony charges and Trina getting kicked out of school is no longer entertaining or watchable.

Everyone from the police to the District Attorney has become moronic and ineffective for this to work and I HATE, HATE, HATE storylines like that.

If all the characters involved have to lose brain cells in order for something to work, then clearly the story is crap and a better writer would go back to the drawing board and start over. I mean precisely what is Scott doing to create reasonable doubt, or even prove that Esme did it?

The forensics report never said Esme's fingerprints or DNA weren't on the phone. They were only testing for Trina's prints. So if there were other prints detected, they would be unidentified assuming Esme's prints aren't already on a database.

And since the phone was a duplicate of Trina's versus just a burner phone, shouldn't it be possible to trace where and when the phone was purchased back to the seller?

I haven't heard any mention of how the video was made, whether the phone was left there recording all night, or if it had a timer.

And whatever happened to Jordan needing to get statements from the other two people present at the cabin that night, Esme and Spencer?

I'm supposed to believe that the police force and the super PI's/spies Sam and Spinneli, not to mention Curtis, could not find any evidence pointing to a set up? No fingerprints when we clearly saw Esme had no gloves. No tracing where the fake phone was pinging and finding it at the Rinky Dinky Day Prison? Or pulling the serial of the phone with the video and tracing when / where / how it was purchased? I get suspension of disbelief. Been watching wandering embryos and coming back from the dead and evil twins for almost 50 years. But this stupid crap is beyond annoying.

esme made an excuse to go back in the cabin when she and spencer were leaving...she set up the camera phone then left,,, the next day or so she went back and got it....either it was on a timer or it had a setting to start running when it picked up movement...motion activated???
