I love Chase as well. I hated when they had him first acting like an obtuse 10 year old with a crush willfully failing to see Willow wasn't in to him anymore. And I double hated him being manipulated into being vindictive when Michael and Willow slept together. Whether or not Millow deserved it, it wasn't Chase.
This Chase, the one with Leo and Brook Lynn, is the Chase I love.

How is it the character's fault that the writers made him oblivious? That was the story. Chase was literally written to not notice. He was intentionally obtuse. He genuinely thought she wanted him. That was the story.
As I saw it, the character trusted the words coming out of Willow's mouth. If Willow felt differently, she should have said something.Chase was none the wiser, esp. after she pity married him! He sincerely thought she wanted him. How was he to know any different?

lala214 The character is the writing. And again IT WAS THE WRITING I COMPLAINED ABOUT. It was dumb and heavy handed making Willow look afraid to assert herself with either Chase or Michael and Chase look like an oblivious dipsh*t. The writing also had him suddenly a wide-eyed puppy at the same time in the story with Finn and his parents. That hole 7 or 8 month period the writing regressed Chase to a lovesick 8 year old with ADHD that made him race past what people were saying and demonstrating right before his face.

I have absolutely adored Chase from his first Nurses Ball when Dante set him up to sing alone. That's why I hate the idea of him being paired with Brook Lynn. He will spend all his time dealing with her issues. If she feels so insecure about herself, see a therapist. Don't expect constant ego stroking from a guy.

Yeah I absolutely loved Chase when he first arrived. I loved him when he was working as a cop at PCPD. I loved him as Dante’s partner. I loved him singing at the Nurse’s Ball. I loved him taking down Nelle. I love Chase with Finn. I love Chase with Violet.
I’m torn on Chase being with Brook Lynn. I feel like it’s being forced. And this new thing with Leo also feels forced and unnatural. There have been a few nice scenes between Chase and Brook Lynn. Like the singing episode. I just don’t like the fact that Chase’s purpose seems to be that of Brook Lynn’s cheerleader too much.
Chase needs to get back being a cop.
I’m mixed on this new romance with Brook Lynn. Just have them have a quick fling maybe and then just good friends and that’s it. I don’t want any long term romance or anything.
But Willow being jealous and then Chase not caring would be great. Karma! ?
I still think Chase need a love interest with someone not related in any way to Michael.
I am grateful that Chase completely ended his friendship with Michael. He needs to hang more with Dante or Finn!Last edited by Maxiegirl; May 17, 2022, 12:57 AM.

I totally agree with Chase never being friends with Michael again. Michael proved he was never Chase's friend to begin with. I don't think Michael knows how to be a friend. And I also agree with a lot of what else you wrote. The whole thing with Leo is just some way for the writers fo "bond" Chase and Brook Lynn.

ITA about never having Michael and Chase be friends again. Michael is no friend, and if anything, he is becoming more of a jerk (putting it nicely).

Chase is one of my favorites... and when Michael dumps Willow (and he will) I hope she tries to get Chase back and he rejects her in favor of Brooklyn. Unlike a lot of people I like Brooklyn.

I feel the same way. As a couple they remind me of Maxie and Nathan. Back then Maxie had a lot of years as someone who at times behaved selfishly and then at other times would be unselfish (like when she was Lulu's surrogate), and still mess up. She grew as a person over the years as she fell for Nathan and after they were together. I think Chase and Brooklyn have great potential as a couple, but their air time is so erratic. I do think mothering Bailey matured Brooklyn and she is ready for a stand up guy like Chase. I hope they don't regress her.

EarthBear66, I would love it if Willow dumped Michael, then tried to get back with Chase to be told "no thanks". And I actually like Willow. I just can't forgive her lying to Chase even if some say she had good reason.

Count me in as someone who would love to see Chase reject Willow after she’s dumped by Michael. I would laugh ? so hard!!
What Millow did to Chase was absolutely disgusting. And I hate how they were seen as such innocents anc Chase as the “bad guy”. Big reason why I hate Michael and Willow is because of their treatment of Chase!

Chase is great but not with Brooklyn. I FF their scenes. Cant wait until this Storyline is over and he moved on from her.

Just curious. Frequently, people post that they FF scenes of characters or stories they don't care for. I can understand not liking a story or character when you have all the info but based on an initial impression, FFing keeps that impression from evolving, which maybe it wouldn't, but how do you know? I didn't care for Chase and Brooklyn at first either. I didn't care for Brooklyn at first and liked her temp replacement better. But she has grown. Chase has as well, not quite as naive.

I just can't watch. It is extremely forced, I like both characters separately but find them sickening together. I really like Chase with Willow. They were a fun couple to watch. I find Willow boring with Michael. All those scenes of Brooklyn accidently walking in on Chase in his underwear and such was just too played out and contrived. I don't like it.

I’d rather see Chase support Violet as her uncle then to be propping Leo and Brook Lynn.
I hope Chase moves on from her too!

I would have loved the scene to just be Chase and Violet, but it was just to show the "connection" between Brook Lynn and Chase. I don't like the pairing but if the writers are dead set to do it, then do it! Enough of the glances and dancing around each other. We get it. They are falling for each other.

I love Chase and can’t wait to see him and Brooklynn together. His near death scenes with her back when he was poisoned by Peter were great. He could be real with her about his fears, whereas he was playing okay for Willow.

I love Chase too. He is kind and down to earth. A guy you can count on. Plus he is so handsome! This guy is a natural with kids and imo that makes him even more attractive. He will be a great dad and husband one day.
Initially, I wasn’t feeling BL and Chase but they’re growing on me. I don’t feel it’s forced. I think it’s been gradual and I like the slower pace. I like that BL sees and appreciates Chase for who he is and I like that he likes BL just the same. They get each other and I like that.

I’ve been watching GH for 44 years and I have to say Chase is one of my top 5 favorites. I look forward to his scenes and I wish he had more screen time. He hasn’t even reached his full potential. I’ll give the romance between him and BLQ a chance but I’m still not sold on them. I wish they would lessen Michael’s airtime and give it to Chase.

Everything with Chase just feels forced. This nonsense with Brook Lynn is forced. This thing with Leo is forced. That should be Austin. Austin is the one to get Leo’s parents to realize that something might be wrong with him, then they just yanked him out of the story and handed it to Chase? Ridiculous.

lala214 - Why kill off Franco and bring Roger Howarth back as a new character if they weren’t going to do anything with him? They made him a Quartermaine. Ripped that away from him. They had him bonding with Leo. They ripped that away from him. Hell, he had some kind of budding friendship with Britt and they ripped that away from him, too! All they have him doing is holding Maxie’s purse. That is a waste of Roger Howarth.
I hope he does leave the show. Then, he can go where he would be appreciated and I won’t have to watch this garbage anymore.
