Carly is turning Drew into a repeat of the Franco relationship!

If I recall, the main reason she got into a relationship with Franco was because, as she said after the fact, she thought he was (then dead) Jason's brother and saw Franco as a way to stay close to Jason. She convinced herself she was in love with him (though for a while, I think she really was) but it was all to fill the hole Jason left only because she thought they were brothers. Then, we all know how that crashed and burned.

That being said, I stopped watching GH through that storyline, Carly would never love someone that Jason and Michael. GH clearly likes to play fast & loose with sexual assault and rape storylines, just look at what Nelle and Nina got away with.

OMG, I almost spit out my drink reading this - it's creepy but true! Even though it's been years, I'm still majorly grossed out by Sam being with Dante after having had a child with his father Sonny.

Carly and Drew were friends way before Jason was a thought between them, they even shared a kiss on NYE. That being said why is it Carly falling for Drew and not Drew pursuing Carly? He's the one that tried to kiss her and she put the breaks on it. Maybe Drew and Franco should stop falling for all things Jason, maybe the problem is theirs. Drew and Carly are going to be absolutely fun, sexy, and passionate, everything Sonny & his groomer are not. I had a problem with Sam and Dante originally, but they're growing on me.

Recent writers treat Carly like she's only attracted to two types of people: People who remind her of Jason (or are Jason) or people named Sonny Corinthos.

I think it’s similar but Drew is 100 percent Jason’s identical twin (with a little reconstruction) and I can suspend (dis)belief more easily than with Billy Miller and………Drew’s really a good guy but this tarot card crap’s gotta go. It is the same thing OP. Carly got with Franco because she thought he was Jason's twin and if she couldn't have Jason alive, she was going to get the next best thing, his twin. Serial killer or not, it didn't matter to Carly because she was with the next best thing...his twin. She was even gonna marry this "serial killer" just to be close to Jason again. Now our sweet Drew is getting caught up in Carly's demented world of thinking that she can have "Jason" back in the form of his twin. If the writers are trying to build a romantic connection or a possibility of one with Drew and Carly, they're going to have to put a kibosh on the constant discussion about the supposedly dead Jason. And stop making up this fantasy connection of closeness that Drew keeps driveling about between him and Jason. Jason has died 999999999999999th times and we get the same worship writing everytime he dies. If their convos continue to be 80% Jason talk, I agree with OP, Drew is just going to be a Jason placeholder. And if that is the case, why waste him on Carly. Jordan is single and fancy free as is Britt.

I don't think it's organic that Drew would want to hook up with a former mob boss, mob moll. The Drew that I remember overcame his memories to want to separate from the mob.

That said, Carly was so much more likeable with him today than she's been in awhile. She is always at her most miserable when with toxic abusive Sonny and channels off of that and the entitlement it brings her. Carly has always worked better with other people, Alcazar, Jax.

I don't want her with Drew, because I don't believe he'd want her, however, I have to temper that because I think the actors work well together, and it would be nice not to loathe Carly every time I see her.

It would be SOO much more refreshing to see Carly just take a minute and be single - I'd love to see her in any story outside of a romantic one for once. Let's see a focus on her being the badass boss/mama that she is, not jumping into another entanglement. Especially with Drew.

She needs to heal and mourn a very fraught, emotionally draining 20+ year relationship, not to mention focus on making sure her children adjust to the change.

Drew is an idiot. Carly is just using him now that Jason is "dead." Both Sonny & Carly had no use for Drew after they found out he wasn't Jason & Jason came back from the "dead." It's no different now. Carly's obsession is gone so she has to obsess over his twin brother now. LOL!

I loathe, loathe what they’ve done to the character of Drew to shoehorn him into being a Carly admirer. Unfortunately I think we definitely are headed towards a pairing.

For me though I guess it won’t be so bad because I just can’t think of this character (more and more) as Drew, there’s been such a rewrite…
