I can't see Nikolas being remotely interested in Esme.
I suppose they could (again) do the scenario where psycho young woman drugs older man to make it look like they had sex. But I don't see that making sense. Esme's great in with Nikolas is to show that she has influence over Spencer and pretend that she sincerely wants to help father and son reconcile.
If Esme can get Spencer and Nikolas to make up, then when Spencer gets out of Spring Ridge they can move back into Wyndemere. Esme wants to live at the castle and she probably has had enough of Laura and Kevin and their rules.

Oh my goodness, I don't see how and why it would even be remotely suggested that they would have consensual sex. It's pretty standard in all forms of entertainment that any time cheating occurs, it is always something that happens when a couple is having issues or at the very least getting stale. Several people on the show -- including their enemies!! -- have remarked that Nikolas and Ava have never been more in love. People frequently say this version of Nikolas is portrayed as an idiot; maybe, but he's still an idiot in love.
Also, even if it was a Valerie/Lulu/Dante situation where somehow Esme was able to convince Nikolas that Ava cheated first, why would he then turn around and sleep with his son's girlfriend, who as far as he knows, is a teenager!!! Nikolas is many things, but he is not a predator. He's a Cassadine. He's more likely to try to murder Esme than sleep with her.
I get that some people want Nava to end because they miss TC, they think Ava is more fun when she's miserable, etc., but this whole idea is really grasping at the straws. If anything it'll be a Nelle/Sonny redux and she'll drug him, but I'm leaning more toward her seriously hurting him after he rejects her and says he's telling Spencer.Comment

Nik is 44 and Ava is 47. Not to mention that Ava is a gorgeous woman and hot in bed. I don't see him giving up what he has and enjoys for the likes of Esme. If any thing she will go the drugging him route though i don't see how she keeps Spencer if she does that. I think Esme will drug Nikolas to stage a scene but Ava will figure it out. She knows Nikolas loves her and never has thought of any other woman since their night in the cabin. Esme is someone he would never consider and only tolerates because of Spencer. I think it will help everyone figure out Trina was drugged at the cabin.Comment

I think Esme will try to seduce Nikolas in order to break NAVA up but I don’t think it’ll have the results she’s hoping for. Nikolas isn’t going to willingly sleep with her because 1) he’s currently madly in love with his wife and 2) it’s safe to say that NAVA have a very active sex life so the relationship is not lacking there. I think she will go the Nelle route and drug Nikolas to make it look like they slept together and have Ava walk in on them or drug him and they really do sleep together. If they really do sleep together I don’t know how Esme will keep Spencer unless she cries rape and Spencer takes her side. Their relationship is still fractured so I could see that happening but Ava wouldn’t believe it. I’m really hoping that Nikolas and Ava aren’t dumbed down for Esme the way Anna was for Peter. Hopefully they figure out early on what Esme is trying to pull and turn the tables on her.Comment

I think she will end up drugging him. We all know how much she likes to drug people.

Seduce Nik? That doesn't make any sense when her goal is having Spencer.
If she wants to break Nik and Ava up (and that's Ryan's goal)---the only thing I can see guaranteeing that is making it look like Ava hates (or is using) Spencer. Infidelity can be forgiven. Not accepting one's child can not. The thing that had Ava ready to leave her marriage was the perceived threat to Avery. Nik should act similarly. I think it's a hard sell, since Ava's been very supportive of the Nik/Spencer relationship. But I guess Ryan doesn't really need much of an opening, since I assume his goal is to whisk Ava away again. Or kill her.Comment

I don't see any benefit for Esme to sleep with Nik. It might break up Nik and Ava but it will for sure break up Spencer and Esme. Is the goal Ryan and Ava marrying and then Esme is their daughter? I just don't get it.Comment

My first thought similar to a lot of other people was that Esme was going to try to seduce Nikolas or at least give that appearance...but the more I think about it, the more I think it's not that. Based on what Ryan said to have everything that they both want: Ava, Spencer, the fortune. I think the only plan to achieve all of that is to kill Nikolas. That way Nava would obviously be over, Esme keeps Spencer, and as the heir, Spencer would inherit the Cassadine fortune.
I just don't see there being any way that Esme's plan would be successful if it's seduction. Nikolas is deeply in love with his wife. Yeah, I don't see him giving up Ava to have sex with Esme. And if it's the drugging route, I expect Ava to be able to see through that right away..everyone is already suspicious of Esme and Ava tried to pull the same stunt with Griffin/Sasha! And Esme would for sure lose Spencer.
I never got that characterization of Nikolas as an idiot or "dumbass". He's not any more plot dumb than any other male character and whatever "plans" he disrupted were stupid to begin with (Carly/Laura's Cyrus plans) - and he was doing it to protect people he loved.Originally posted by LBD12 View Post
One of the most enjoyable things about Nava (for me) is that Ava is completely able to be herself when she's with him. She doesn't have to hide who she is, she's still able to be petty, sharp, gorgeous and entertaining - while being happy because she's so secure with Nikolas in their marriage.

I have no interest in a “Esme seduces Nikolas” plot. I love Nava and just don’t want to see that play out. And given how much Esme is trying to hold onto Spencer, I’m not sure it would make sense.

When I met him, circa 2013, he was foolish enough to fall for Britt when everyone including his sister and BFF were telling him not to trust her. The problem is Nik is never proactive. He didn't go after Valentin, and now he's not out front trying to figure out what Victor is up to. He comes off as a neglectful father in part because he simply let his son stay in Europe and wasn't seen actively trying to mend that relationship.
And I agree---the best thing about NAva is that they don't try to 'fix" the other. There aren't secrets. And neither feels they have to "be good enough" to have the other's love.Comment

I agree with every post in these comments. I know people loved TC in the role but he quit. MC is doing fine. The writing would be the same if TC were there. I think Nikolas is the perfect partner for Ava and she’s perfect for him. I love the way they love each other completely, warts and all. I love how they have each other’s back even when they don’t agree on their choices.
I also agree that I don’t see any other characters on screen that would be better for either one of them. And I find their chemistry to be some of the hottest on the show.Last edited by nykarenb; March 13, 2022, 08:03 PM. -
truffle89 the "upgrade" is either someone they like more, or someone they hate. IMO there currently isn't an upgrade on canvas. (that makes sense for Ava. If things had been different, Maura and JPS would be fire.) If one becomes available, I reserve the right to jump ship. But short of someone like Rick Hearst, someone with a pedigree and gravitas, I'll stand pat. GH has repeatedly shown they're not going out to get someone like that for Ava. All three of her serious romances have been soap newcomers, while they avoided pairing her up with vets like Howarth, Easton, JPS, and even (thank God) Bernard. -
parker joe: Technically wasn't Ava paired with Silas (ME) and Franco (RH) sort of at one point? I know neither were considered "serious" pairings. But it didn't really have any romantic spark to me (though maybe that was the point, those characters: Ava/Silas, Ava/Franco weren't supposed to). And the brief Ava/Austin scenes to make Nik jealous..yeah there was nothing there. But I did enjoy Ava/Franco friendship!

Nikolas is trying to repair his relationship with Spencer...plus he loves Ava so the last thing he's going to do is let Esme seduce him...and if she drugs him to make it look like something happened then shame on the writers... since it's the exact same thing Nelle did with Sonny
