Esme is self harming

We have now seen her digging her nails into her hands in front of both Trina and Ava. At the beginning of the episode today she appeared to be pulling her sleeves over her wrists. This girl clearly has some very significant issues. I'm starting to think Ryan actually might have met her in the institution and this father/daughter thing is some sort of role play. Either way, I really hope this ends all the "I hope she steals Nikolas and becomes Spencer's step mom!!" talk. She is obviously very, very ill.

The bruising on Esme's wrists was from Ryan grabbing her.

I think the OP meant the nails that Esme dug into her palms, not the wrist bruising.

At first I thought Esme had pills in her hand to put into Nik’s drink, but then she unfurled her hand and we saw the nail marks she dug into her palms. She did that before at Ava’s gallery, and she bled a lot then.

I thought she had pills too! I had to rewind and watch it again when she was in the elevator. She was just kind of clenching her fist, then they showed her bruised arm (from Ryan) and she pulled her sleeve down.

My first thought was she had pills in her hand. Funny how other people thought that for a second too.

I didn't know what to make of the hand clinching. I didn't notice the bruising or nail marks. I just thought it was a sign of barely controlled rage, or I was wondering if it was like Britt and the Huntington symptoms.

So it may not be self harming, but it is a sign of extreme stress, I think.

Esme is truly two faced. Her face remains calm and her clenched fists show how stressed, upset or scared she is. If I didn't hate her nasty little butt, I would feel sorry for her.

I agree, I can see maybe she was in a True Crime we love Ryan Chamberlain serial killer fan club or something maybe she felt him on a level as a victim of sexual abuse or something like Ryan.
LOL that'd be interesting if they have some character who is a true crime lover come to town and point out the amount of murders and serial killers/mass killers that take up residence in PC.
