  • And just like that, Spencer of all people proves himself more mature than Nina...

"I should be able to go myself. But I can't because of the choices I've made." Not "I can't because Ava pressed charges." Not, "I can't because my dad didn't back me." Spencer has accepted that his present unpleasant circumstance is due to decisions he made and actions he took.

And as of that sentence, Spencer has proven himself more emotionally mature than Nina "Because Carly" Reeves.

He's also proving that he's more mature then Esme, because she's still up to new good.

Yes. But Esme is a teenager.

Spencer has a long way to go before I will call him mature.

He isnt that mature begging Victor to let him out to go put flowers on Courtney's grave. He really is not as special as he thinks.

OLTLBoomer Yes you are right he knows his family has power and that power is exactly what makes him so entitled. That is why he did not take no for an answer because he is use to getting what he wants and thinks as a Cassadine he is entitled to what he wants hence making him spoiled. That power is exactly what will keep him acting immature(im sorry but I found his constant begging more childish than anything) , it is hard to grow up when you are handed everything and have people in power pulling strings for you.

I actually like Spencer for the most part but sometimes he makes my eyes roll. Today we did not see a mature adult and that is my opinion and I am sticking to it.

You can of course disagree if you find him not spoiled or entitled or immature that is fine but I sure do.

Oh I find him "entitled" still, but I also see a young man who has and is playing his cards, much like people do in those situations. Doesn't make him spoiled or immature - but shows that he is aware of his situation and how to get what he wants.

OLTLBoomer Well Trina called him out today for being a rich spoiled brat for what he did and Trina tells it like it is.

Spencer is all over the place and idk if it's to show how easily influenced he is? One episode he wants to be independent and no longer a Cassadine, the next he tells Nikolas to bail him out and demanded his inheritance. Now is he back to taking responsibility? This has been a constant roller coaster for months...and within a short time. The boy's eyes lit up just last week when Victor mentioned that he is the heir. Then he was demanding his inheritance from Nikolas within the next breath. As much as Nik is a faulty parent, I don't want to hear Spencer condemn Nikolas for caring about the money/title,when that boy knows damn well he cares about it just as much as his father. He's a Cassadine and next in line.(unless Victor tries to fudge the order).

Spencer has never been my favorite, but I do feel bad for him because he can't see that Victor is using him for his own gain. It's past time Laura educated Spencer on the Cassadines and what they put her through. Nikolas found out when he was only a teenager after being isolated his whole childhood/teen years with Helena and Stefan. But....unfortunately, I think it may be too late for Nikolas/Laura to get a handle on it as Spencer is too attached now.

Laura definitely needs to educate Spencer on the Cassadines, starting with his dear old Great-Great-Uncle Victor. She can start by telling him that Victor kept his friend Emma Drake's mother prisoner and that Victor caused the death of Emma's baby brother Gabriel. Spencer certainly remembers Gabriel's death. And since Patrick and Sam learned the truth about why Rafe caused the car accident, it's not like it's a big secret. Then Laura can show Spencer a picture of Scout and explain how Victor let her think her dad was dead for two years while he was holding Drew on Crete. Spencer is all up in arms about fathers being supposed dead and how terrible it is for their kids, that one should get to him.

Spencer is still on my nerves ~
the kid needs something to knock some sense into him.

I really thought today would have been perfect for a Spirit-Courtney visit..

Courtney and original Spencer were so sweet together in the scenes where she would come speak to him from the grave. New Spencer seems very far removed from her.

Spencer has been all over the place, as another poster said. A few months ago he was saying he's no longer a Cassadine and today he was telling Uncle Vic how "Cassadines always have each other's backs."

If this is truly a break through for him, great. But something tells me within a week he'll be back on the "it's all Ava's fault" train.

I would have to see Spencer actually do more than just say this. We have heard Nina babble about being wrong but of course no actions there either. I will give spencer props if there is some action to go with those words.

Well, I’m sort of surprised about Spencer’s explosion over Courtney’s death. I kind of wish he was being written more consistently.

When Spencer is on I try not to watch. So unlikable. I hope he gets caught out and goes to
a real prison. He didn't even know his mom. WTH!! so phoney.

I think it's a perfect comparison. Spencer might have a long way to go but he's heading in the right direction. Nina just goes in circles blaming Carly.

Spencer acting entitled is showing his continued lack of maturity. I'm not sure how Nina is involved but she is more mature than he is. Even Carly is more mature and she has daily temper tantrums.

Spencer asking Victor to use his influence to arrange a furlough for Spencer shows a lack of maturity and a sense of entitlement.

Spencer's been willing to admit that he's made bad choices---to everyone other than Ava and Nik. So hard pass on him "proving" he's more mature because he knows he's made mistakes. Just as of "yesterday" in soap time (or the day before because "yesterday" was supposed to be his birthday, I guess...) he was still blaming "that bitch" Ava for his actions.

His youth gives him the better excuse. But let's wait on giving him any credit. Unless we're setting the bar really, really low.

I didn't say he's mature. I said he was more mature than Nina.Nina can't even admit to herself that she is responsible for the consequences of her actions. Everything is Carly's fault.

And, Spencer has admitted to Nik and Ava that being in prison is because of his actions. He just still feels entitled to be mad at them. i kind of agree that his complaints about Nik are fair. But he should be over the Ava thing by now or at least admit that he put her through enough.

I believe Nina when she says she's sorry. But I'll agree she doesn't really want to deal with the consequences of her actions anymore than Spencer does. Spencer doesn't believe he belongs in jail. He still calls his actions "pranks". He just wanted Nik to pressure Ava to get him out of paying restitution. Admitting he agreed to go to jail (when we all know he could've accepted Nik and Ava's deal and chose not to) seemed designed to play the martyr.

When I saw this for myself It was clear to me Spencer did a good job playing Uncle Victor. Spencer got what he wanted. I bet his attitude won't be any better when he gets back

Not really. He still made sure to make it to his mother’s grave and manipulated the situation. He’s only in there for a month and still whines, pouts and complains .
It wasn’t that long ago he claimed he didn’t want the Cassadine money power yet he’s demanding it now along with his father to divorce Ava. He still doesn’t think what he did was harmful.
He is easily manipulated by Esme so like many I don’t know what to think in terms of what direction he’s actually going as he also seems to care about Trina .

I do agree with that thinking that Nina is sorry but that she doesn’t want the consequences . She wants sorry to be enough.
