  • Have you ever known anyone to keep alcohol in their office?

Is it just me or is a bit odd that Britt keeps booze in her office?

I think it's a little strange. Not very professional.

I have no problem with it as long as the person saves it for a special occasion: Peter's death is a good example.

I dont find it strange,,, I vaguely remember Finn having some stashed as well,,, As long as she is off duty and not treating patients it is okay

Years ago it wasn't strange but I believe it still happens.

Yes I had a manager kept a bottle in his desk drawer, and teacher kept his "thermos" in his desk.

LOL, that's something you always see on TV shows, but in real life??? No I don't know anyone who could get away with that in today's work place. Well, maybe if you own your own business, I guess you can make whatever rules you want then.

It all depends on the policy of the place of business.

I don't see this as a norm in general anymore. Too much liability, people who are intoxicated at work, etc. There are certain industries or businesses that do this, but hospitals? Guessing most hospitals have something in their employee handbook about this being against the policies.

The liability alone would be a reason why employers (at least responsible ones) would prohibit it.

My company definitely has alcohol. Sometimes on Fridays (pre-COVID) after work our boss will tell people to hang around and have some drinks. However, we are just a small business and not a hospital chief of staff, so a little different.

Yes, all the time. Businessmen, cops (higher up, not beat cops), accountants, lawyers for sure!

I knew a few people that kept alcohol in their offices for special
occasions. They would receive bottles of whiskey at Christmas and leave at the office.

That’s just what I was gonna say. Christmas alcohol has been left at my office pre-COVID.

Everyone at the hospital is unprofessional. They all do things that wouldn't cut it in the real world. This is a soap not real life.

Worked a small office. We had alcohol in the employee fridge for holidays and special occasions. I never worked in a hospital not sure of the protocol

It wasn't booze, it was a bottle of red wine. No one in that hospital would give a hoot that Britt had it in her office.

After being in a difficult surgery that lasted 7 1/2 hours and the patient survived, we celebrated afterwords with a little bit of brandy and it was the end of our shift.
