We have seen Jason and Carly try to deal with Sonny when he is having a bipolar episode. Carly staying in the darkened penthouse with Sonny because she knew that was what Jason would have wanted her to do is when I FIRST started to like Carly.
When Emily first started to figure out he was bipolar, I was mad that she was the one who figured it out (I was violently anti-Emily) and was only okay with it because she was a Doctor AND she worked with Jason and Sonny's family to get him through the diagnosis.
Watching Olivia and Carly work together when Sonny went off his meds was true to the story - Sonny and Carly weren't even together at the time, but she knows the stages.
Watching that entire family go through Morgan's diagnosis and his tragic end - watching his struggle to stay steady when his medication was wron and then finding out that was what sent Morgan into the manic episode when he died.
I thought this show was really taking this mental illness seriously. And then Phyllis picking up on it (after days) and then having Jason get him to his Doctor immediately. All of this rang true to life.
There is so much history there. And to have Nina come in, immediately figure out what is going on and get him help - once again keeping him away from his family - I am having a harder and harder time swallowing this weird propping of Nina.
And the hospital/Britt leaving Sonny - who is off his medication and having a diagnosed manic episode - with a non family member, who juist recently abused hi,. I just cannot.
