No to a Jason recast. They already did that with Billy Miller & we all know how that turned out. They can keep Jason presumed dead until a miracle happens & Steve Burton returns to the show.

I totally agree that ABC did the right thing. And while I understand that some folks are upset about him leaving, it was his choice not to comply and therefore, deal with the consequences of that choice and ABC did what they had to do. It doesn't matter how popular a character is; it's a matter of rules and regulations.

SB is a good actor and very handsome with piercing blue eyes. That said, nothing will come as close to the level of upset I was when Robert's original partner O'Reilly was killed off. I loved that character so much. I am unable to miss the stone cold hitman, although I mourned for the loss of Jason Q years ago. To me, Jason was already gone.

just want to add gh is owned by disney and disney ordered the mandate gh had to do it...these co's have millions riding on these shows and must protect the actors as much as possible...Steve was given a choice and he MADE a choice

I like Jason/Britt but I am glad that she told him that she will never be 2nd to another woman in his life.
I adore SB immensely -always have and probably always will. That said I am fine with a decent recast and I agree that they shouldn't do the reconstructed face thing again.

Oh and P.S. I DEFINITELY don't think we need a Jason, I mean a recast. To me, the only good thing about Jason was Steve B.

Many of these responses compel me to remind everyone that being vaccinated or unvaccinated, we can ALL carry and transmit viruses. Just saying.
I do wish Steve the best, and hope first and foremost that he and his family be healthy and safe.

OMG it was annoying watching BM speak thru gritted teeth.
It took me quite a while to accept TSJ as Todd.

It's a jolt to the storylines for sure. I'm not a fan of the stone cold hitman who's always the superhero but I did enjoy his scenes when he was portrayed a bit softer. I will miss his scenes with Monica because they were rebuilding a really nice relationship. His relationship with Britt was just budding but I did enjoy it while it lasted.
If he is recast, it's an opportunity for head trauma from the tunnel collapsing on him to change his personality again and come back as a hybrid mix of Jason Q and Jason Morgan - perhaps even become a WSB agent since the others on screen are semi-retired agents. That would be interesting viewing for me.

What's interesting, is I'm also a video game player, and SB was well known as the voice of Cloud Strife in the English version of the Final Fantasy games, so his firing has actually been a news topic in those circles also. And the reaction has been OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of ABC (rightfully so), I suspect the reasoning for this is a lot of people that follow that news more closely are have more scientific education/knowledge, and also tend to be Atheists (self-disclosure: I am one) than the average soap viewer. (This isn't meant to be derogatory, just an observation. Seeing as I've been watching soaps for 42 years) I just find it interesting the striking difference in the reactions of the two communities.

It's all a matter of choice. Nonetheless, I support "GH's" decision to drop Steve Burton as a cast member from the long-running soap.
