Daytime Confidential is reporting that Kelly Monaco will be replaced temporarily by Lindsay Hartley. The recast is expected to last a few weeks.

I think it had to do with a surgery she had recently. I think just before the shut down. Clearly she’s already back since she filmed the promo saying GH was back with new episodes. Maybe she stepped in during the few episodes they shot before shut down that we didn’t see yet.

Temporary recasts can be kind of distracting IMO. I'd have preferred they just postpone her scenes or re-write without her. Is Sam even in a major storyline right now that needs to play out asap? I can't recall...

Wow. I've long said if I could have any actress join GH, it would be Lindsay Hartley. It is kind of weird under these circumstances though. I hope KM comes back soon, but it is nice to know the role will be in such talented hands while she's gone. Perhaps her turn as Sam will inspire TPTB to create a new role for her? I can only hope.

Well, some recasts work and some don’t! It’s a crap shoot! It is what it is.
