  • Ugh! Just give Wiley back to Lucas!!!

I am so sick of this whole custody battle. Great couple destroyed in this mess (Chase and Willow). A psychotic murderer should not even be out of jail much less vying for custody of a child she gave away. Michael, is also a murderer, and part of a crime family. Brad is in jail, just give Wiley back to Lucas and call it a day!

hmmm, no. michael is his father. its unfortunate that lucas was included in this mess but that doesn't entitle him

In any other custody case, even on soaps usually, the adoptive parent continues to fight for legal custody of a child they've been raising and were thought to have legally adopted.

I agree Michael should have Wiley but I also have NO doubt they will award his crazy bio mom joint custody.

Michael should have his son, regardless of people's strange penchant to want to punish him for other people's transgressions. But, given what a circus this is, Wiley should really be placed in foster care because the judge could easily find neither Michael nor Nelle currently fit enough. Then everyone would have to fight to get him out of foster care by seriously proving their own fitness. The spectacularly unfortunate part of this is that Nelle will be given full custody. There is no doubt. And given everything, that is quite the joke.

You know, it's an option, but it might just be unduly cruel to Lucas too. He has already "lost" Wiley once. Giving Lucas custody which is certain to only be be temporary would only lead to him going through the same ordeal twice. On one hand, it's nice because Lucas makes a good parent, but on the other hand it's also really mean to ask to Lucas to care for Wiley and then take him away, again.

Lucas is still family to Wiley, right? Is he his Great Uncle or some such?

Lucas could only foster care. Once the baby switch was legally found to have happened, Lucas' parental rights disappeared, and the only entity capable of claiming immediate custody was the State of New York.

But then Willow and Michael would have no reason to to stay married

No, Michael is his father and deserves to raise him. Michael killed Claudia to save his mom and sister, it wasn't a cold blooded murder.

If you must make excuses for him, then okay, but she's still dead.

My heart breaks for Lucas - but Michael is Wiley's father. And there is NO REASON on earth why he cannot raise his child in his own home. And there is no reason on earth why he couldn't have married Sasha - his OWN GIRLFRIEND. She has paid for her crime, apologized ad nauseum, has been forgiven, and even OFFERED to go to JAIL for it. What else can she do to atone for this????

If EVERYBODY would have LEFT Michael ALONE - he and SASHA would have been married already. There would have been NO NEED for any marriage scam. Willow and Chase would have been left in tact and HAPPY.

AFAIC this is ALL Diane's FAULT. Michael listened to the "professional advice" from his "top rate lawyer" - and now look at the mess he's in.

But Michael never wanted Sasha. He was just using her and would have eventually tried to steal Willow away from Chase like he did w/Kiki! What Michael wants, Michael gets. He's still the show's golden boy, and his brat is now just another version!

I don't trust that Michael and Chase had a good friendship, and Michael didn't have any strong feelings for Sasha since she hasn't crossed his mind once. It seems that quad was pretty fake.

I saw a wonderful relationship between the four of them.

But it's all a moot point now anyways.

TIIC gleefully took a sledgehammer to all of it - and has smashed it to it to smithereens.

Michael no longer has a girlfriend. Chase no longer has a girlfriend. Chase and Michael are no longer friends. Willow and Sasha are no longer friends.

I see it as a terrible waste...………..but we'll obviously have to agree to disagree.

If I'm going based on what I was shown on screen. Michael did care for sasha and was a greater friend to chase. But I think his life has taught him a lot of lessons about loss. Him being focused on his son instead the betrayal doesn't mean the feelings were never there. I certainly saw them

It's crazy how Lucas has been drop-kicked from this custody battle. When was the adoption voided by anything? It wasn't when they thought SHank was the dad or when Willow lied about who the father was. Has there even been a DNA on Wiley?

Even an adoptive soap parent should be part of the legal fight for a kid they thought was adopted legally.

If the judge had to choose between Nell, Michael and Lucas, I'd say give him to Lucas until this mess is sorted out. But no, they will just give joint custody to both parents in order for everyone to have to stay married to their new spouess. Ugh.

Lucas and Brad NEVER legally adopted Michael's son. They adopted WILLOW's baby - that DIED.

I can't see that they have ANY rights to him whatsoever now.

Yes, you're right! No DNA tests were done. The adoption was never voided - on screen at least. We're just supposed to assume all that occurred.

Lucas and Brad (but esp. Lucas) were only ever plot points for this story. They were never characters the writers really cared about, so that is why they have both disappeared from this story.

We never saw anything legal happen but SOMETHING must have happened when he hospital needed both Nelle and Michael's okay. This would likely be a real legal mess. SO I think they just skimmed over it. It HAS happened in real life but not a common thing)
It would be interesting to see what has happened in real life

Going solely on what we are allowed to see on the show, Lucas hasn't even been around Wiley. I do wish Willow had been afforded that but she allowed herself to be manipulated. I do think that Michael and Lucas together as co parents should be more beatable then Michael married to anyone

I agree with the OP. With Nelle being unstable and Michael being part of the Corinthos family who is at the brink of a mob war with Cyrus Renault, Wiley is better off with Lucas right now. Lucas has been the most stable parent Wiley has had.

Michael works at ELQ and lives in the Quartermaine mansion. He's not at war with anybody.

And must he live his ENTIRE LIFE without ANY children - because of what Sonny does??????????

Which he has ZERO CONTROL over???????

He was already shot at once by Cyrus. He's not at war, but the war is coming to him whether he wants it to or not. And I did say "right now" he is better off with Lucas. I didn't say forever.

Lucas is not his father. Michael has every right to raise his child in his own home. Giving Wiley back to Lucas - letting him get attached - only to yank him away again is just cruel.

      • #11
The only way Michael ever gets sole custody of Wiley is if Nelle is dead.
