  • GH Ratings: 5/4 - 5/8/20

GH continues to slip in their weekly ratings (if they had the ratings from a few weeks ago, they would probably have been #1 or close to it thjs week). The other soaps are suffering too. It's difficult to tell exactly how bad it all is without knowing how many HHs were pre-empted, etc.

    Recap:
    Alexis was disbarred.
    Julian offered Neil some advice.
Spencer reached out to Nikolas with a conditional offer for reconciliation.
Peter was relieved that his man had not been responsible for Holly Sutton's death.
Chase arrested Brook Lynn for punching Sasha.
Nelle asked Nina to testify on her behalf.
    Cyrus intimidated several residents.
    Mike continued to decline.

NOTE: There were preemptions throughout the week.

Some of the cable companies have been using Localish to air the episodes if the show is pre-empted on ABC due to a news update. Do any of our Nielsen experts know whether a viewer who watches GH over Localish will have their view counted, if a Nielsen family?

Well if you look at the over all, even RERUN Y&R and B&B are still getting higher daily viewers then GH's new episodes and many states interrupt during Y&R so the whole "they are interrupted" means nothing. The show is boring, that's it.

That target demo drop, is very troubling!

Unfortunately, I see more low ratings in the future with the way they rotate storylines & drag things out.

Why is it troubling? This is what the writers want. It's going to continue to drop because the Nelle show is horrible.

The Nelle show? More like the Wiley/Willow show. I couldn’t care less about Wiley or Willow!

In all honesty, where I live you don’t get to see a full episode of the show due to COVID-19 press conferences, if you get to see any of it. It has gotten a bit better the last week, but before that it wasn’t worth watching it. Every county had to do a briefing. The PA, NJ, and Delaware Governors had to do briefings. It was ridiculous throughout March and April. I started deleting without trying to watch. On a good day you got the first 15 minutes. It seems the station has started streaming the majority of those briefings on their website instead of airing them live. Now you only get 10 minutes of show interruptions each episode.
