This is what made me think that Ava wrote the letter. She must know someone in the art world in France that she could sent it to and asked that person to mail it from France. I feel this is Ava's way of getting back at Nik because she thinks he put the snake in her bag. All this women cares about is the monetary gain for her should Nik divorce her.

Ava and Nelle should become best friends.
