Dropped Story? Gladys Making Suspicious Calls Before Shooting

Was that ever resolved, or dropped?

In the episodes leading up to the multiple shootings, Gladys was seen making suspicious phone calls, asking too many questions and trying too hard to get close to Sonny. She appeared to be snooping at the warehouse right before the shooting started but I dont recall any follow up or resolution.

Or is Brando the follow up?

I always thought Cyrus/Gladys/Brando/Dev would be connected

I think its more then that and I don't think Cyrus is the top boss, I think that might be the attorney Martin guy. But I think Brando is from KY NOT Chicago. I don't think he is Glady's son, as Mike has said he doesn't know him many times now, while lucid.
I think someone realized Sonny was paying Gladys, and figured out why... and blackmailed her into cooperating with them and that meant pretending this guy was her dead son Brando. (And why she doesn't seem to really like Brando). I think Brando is a good guy, but also took a favor from Cyrus and pretending to be this dead guy Brando is the favor Cyrus called in on him.
I think OG they were going to have Dev be part of the plot, but now think Sonny lying about Dev's immigration status is all he will amount to, the reason he was paying Glady's and why they could blackmail her into bringing Brando in, and Brando saving Carly's life was set up to make Carly like him.

And again, I think Sam also owes Cyrus a favor and she knows who/what Brando really is.

My two cents - the phone calls were to Brando. She knew that he was alive, but not speaking to her. It was easier for her to say that Brando was killed overseas that admit that he was sent to prison post military tour. Sonny bought Gladys the car to get her to return to back home. I thought after she was caught in the shoot out and the truth came out about Brando, Gladys and their estranged relationship, that Gladys was happy to return home.

sonny bought gladys that car but she was still hanging around..I think she went home after the shooting..though they didn't really show it

They kinda just dropped Gladys. One minute she was behaving very suspiciously -- like wanting to visit the coffee warehouse. Then Brando reappeared and it was revealed that they had been estranged and she had faked his death (without his participation, according to what they said) for insurance purposes. She never faced charges and she just disappeared. Maybe the writers will bring her back for some kind of twist, but right now it looks like a dropped part of the storyline.

I thought Sonny got her the car, not so she would leave completely, but for her to go home to live and still be able to travel back and forth to see Mike. It's just really weird for her to be gone now, with Mike doing so bad and her long lost son that she desperately missed being in town.

True. But Dev has been off screen for a LONG time too and then just showed up with Joss the other day. I'm sure it's that they knew filming was ending and Gladys is just out of storylines right now (so they could have Brando sleep with Molly).

yes gladys had an old crappy not reliable car so didn't want to drive back and forth the long distance so she could still continue to stay at sonny and carlys place...but sonny got her the new car so she could go home but still come visit mike,,,,yeah she acted suspicious around the time of the shootout at the coffee factory
