I cant stand the name poor character has to be stuck with a name like Wylie, who in their right mind would name a boy that... Every time they say his name it reminds me of the Cartoon Wylie Coyote.. can you imagine what he'll go through in life being teased with a dumb name like that... They should switch it back to Jonah...Brad was a dumbass to give him that name... JMO.. of course.. I know some may like it but I my self find it a dorky name. He should have named Him Sue it is better than Wylie..

I feel you - it's an unfortunate name for a sweet little boy. Same with Rocco. I liked Jonah much better.
I can't stand the name Brando. I get it for a last name - but it sounds odd for a first name. I couldn't figure out why it was so weird for me - then it hit me. It sounds like a clown name - like Bozo. Even Franco to me sounds better then Brando.

LOL, I did a little research. The name Wiley for a boy went up and down in popularity in the 1800 - 1900s until it seemed to just drop out of popularity around the late 1940s. I checked to see when the Wile E. Coyote cartoon debuted...it was 1949. So yes, it seems most people made the same connection you did and really didn't want to name their child Wiley. But the people who are having kids these days have possibly never seen that cartoon, so maybe there will be a resurgence. I hear it is a variation of William.

PC is the land of dumb names:
Wylie, Franco, Brando, Rocco.... all dumb names. I mean I still can't take hearing Liz say "Franco" And take anything after seriously. He was a guy ashamed of his past so let's cling to the name Franco and drop Robert? Hello Robert Baldwin sounds like a respectable name.

The show doesn't do the best job with names. He is related to Rocco (Michael is Lulu's cousin I think). They can grow up and compare who has a worse name.
I'll be the person that goes there and says that I don't like the character of Wiley. (not the toddlers who play him). But I am soooooo, soooo over the character. He needs to go back into the Q mansion nursery and not be heard from until the family themed Holiday episodes.. Then he can come out when he's old enough to be part of storyline when he can speak his own lines.

Why can't he have his own BETTER name?
Can't there be a compromise between Michael and Wylie?
The writers couldn't think of ONE nice name for a sweet little boy?
Ben, Jeremy, Zachary, Landon, Adam Quartermaine??
Do they have to make EVERYTHING so difficult and complicated?
-
Is it Quartermaine or Corinthos and IA ScrubsFan#1 Adam really is good name.

Oh - thank goodness! I was really wondering what kind of person could hate a 16 month old child! Regardless, I don't mind the name at all. Personally, I think the all time worst name for a child is Spike, as in Spike Lavery on AMC. I kept waiting for them to say it was his nickname, but it never happened!

Reminds me of Wiley Coyote whenever they say it. On the papers Valentine had forged for Nelle they listed him as William so made me wonder if Wiley is short for William? I know Valentine just forged any name but still wondered if Wiley is a nickname for William

Why would you want to hang such a horrible name on a girl? (I know it's Emily Scout) She'll be teased incessantly.
I don't care for Wiley or Jonah, but Wiley is the lesser evil of the two.

"Boy Scout" for starters. Kids can find many ways to tease a name. It's very masculine to begin with.

I have no problem with the name Scout. However, before Emily Scout was born, didn’t Danny want a dog named Scout? Giving your daughter the name your son wanted for his dog is setting her up for future sibling teasing....at least that’s how my family works. ??
