ABC airing primetime soap opera special May 19

I was really looking forward to it, but when I watched it, I found it very disappointing. I especially didn't like the reality section..

MyOnlyVice I agree the last half was really a kick in the gut to real soap fans. There is another thread on this if you want to look at all the comments and frustrations many of us shared. You're not alone.

Just finished this and now am sad. Seems last half was designed to make us come to terms with daytime soaps being unsustainable and we should just binge prime time and watch reality tv instead. No doubt all are dramas and there are great ones, but the daytime soap is a reliable everyday friend. Other shows are very limited and short lived comparably. 😞

Just now watched that part. Had not seen those scenes before. Program was very enjoyable. I started watching around 81. This show said Blacky was on 82-92, but I don’t recall his character at all. I always thought John Stamos was on before my time. Are those dates right?

i enjoyed the special, especially some of the older stories that were featured. i liked that genie francis spoke up and said the rape should never have happend

This is interesting in that it seems hardly anyone heare watched reality shows. (and sinde we are hear watch(ed) soaps) Ihave never seen an appeal in these I never thought about them vs soaps .
OKay one theing I will say for the snippets I have seen while watching other shows. Soap actors are far better and more believable than those "REAL people"

I don't know what the hell that was. It was not what I was expecting to see. It could have been much better and something else. They should have shown the most important storylines of each soap and played the theme songs, leaving out the primetime soaps and reality TV 😨😒😔

It didn't have much hype and was hardly mentioned on Soap Central. I missed it and will try to get in on Demand.

I hope so. I forgot it was on and missed it. Usually On Demand shows a lot of reruns so I will check it out.

It was great...I enjoyed it...but as others said...I can see why they may choose to not show those old episodes from the early years...because they were really choppy which proves they were not well preserved
