I’m sure this is just a plot point but couldn’t they get someone else to introduce Renault? As the daughter of Luke and Laura I always want her to be smarter than she is depicted but this is ridiculous. What reason would she have for agreeing to interview a drug dealer? Since the Invader is only one step up from a rag magazine, the story does not make sense. They could have, at the very least, shown Peter assigning her the story and Lulu providing push back.

Ace reporter Lulu interviewing the most dangerous man in Port Charles, sees the Mayor and yells "Mom!"
Cyrus to Laura, "Oh, this is your daughter?"
Lulu sitting there listening....and clueless.

The show had to have Lulu work for that weekly rag, The Intruder, to keep Henrik involved in the show, instead of the real, daily newspaper, The Port Charles Press, because no characters on the show work there. Just like how the daily town gossip, gets run past Nina for publication in her Monthly fashion magazine. Like what the citizens propose, can show up in print next week, instead of two months down the road.

Yes, that was part of the disgusting segment. Really you interview a drug dealer in a public restaurant/bar, and just smirk when Carly comments about his drug dealing and go be seated. Is Lulu written to be stupid or so callous as to have her mother, the MAYOR, a political figure in the city, join in at the risk of being connected to the scum?
What a useless segment of the show. Take Lulu away somewhere and bring her back as the former actress who played the part and was written with a brain....and more like a Spencer.

I find it completely unbelievable that Lulu would interview the man who almost got her mother killed and then be stupid enough to interview him in the Metro court. Carly owns the place and is Michael's mother and Lulu's cousin - since Michael was definitely a target of Cyrus' she could have at least figured out she should do the interview somewhere else or better yet, recuse herself from the interview based on personal feelings. The writers have turned Lulu into a clueless bird brain.

Lulu was just doing her job - a man let out of prison with charges dropped due to false evidence is a story, period. By introducing Cyrus to Laura as her m other, Lulu placed a target on her back. It was another opportunity for Cyrus to needle Laura as the mayor. Yes, Lulu acted like a teen getting a story for the high school paper - she obviously had not done her research, ro she would have (hopefully) been more cautious.

Let this be the storyline where Lulu is forced. To leave Port Charles because of death threats. She is on my last nerve and cannot tolerate her as an ace reporter. The Intruder is akin to the enquirer type rag. She is no Katie Couric interviewing a Big Crime Boss. GMFB.

Dustin is fortunate he didn't stop into the Metro Court.
Lulu: "Dustin! Dustin! Come here!"
Lulu to Cyrus: "You have to meet my boyfriend."

Of course she's interviewing him. I don't know who else would. Definitely not Peter and I don't think anyone in town cares about any kind of news.
I'm still very thankful that she doesn't act like the Spencer's who have walked away from their kids on multiple occasions.Shelly, Moderator
