I find this thread hilarious. My boyfriend hates Lulu. Every time she's on screen he gets annoyed. And I always defend her because she is the only daughter of Luke and Laura, but honestly I miss Julie constantly. She just had traits with her Lulu that were similar to Luke and Laura. I don't blame Emme as much as I blame the writers but it hasn't been the same since she was recast.

I actually feel sorry for Lulu, at least since the Charlotte story began. I can't speak to how unlikable she has been in the past but I have no problem with her most recent behavior because I understand it.

All of her interactions with Valentin and others suggests she just can't get over the betrayal of what happened to her. Every time she sees Valentin it just comes flooding back.

    - the stolen embryo
    - the fact that a crazy evil woman decided who was going to be the father of her child
    - that she only found out about Charlotte through her own investigation
    - the realization that there is clearly a stronger bond between Valentin and Charlotte than anything she has because of the six years lost
    - the way Charlotte's eyes light up every time she sees Valentin and that Charlotte doesn't respond to her like that.

It all hurts in a major way.

Add to that the way Valentin did that thing that some men like to do when they say to a woman, who has a legitimate complaint, "be reasonable." Then top it all off with Valentin always saying "I just want what's best for Charlotte" as though Lulu doesn't. So annoying.

If all that isn't bad enough Lulu has to hear her best friend and mother defend the man. Lulu conveyed a sense of anger and profound betrayal in her conversation with Laura and, really, who could blame her. It was real.

I think the actress playing Lulu is doing an excellent job of conveying how it feels to live through all the above.

Now the question becomes can Lulu make the right moves going forward since she will have full custody..

As for Nikolas, it would be fine with me if LuLu dumped on him every time she saw him. You gas-light a ten year old child. Your self-serving actions could have ended tragically with her drowning death and Lulu is supposed to just move past it? Don't think so. This is her child.

I have disliked the character since the recast. She continuously gets more obnoxious.

I agree with the Dante affair that the writers worked overtime to make Lulu the bad person. I don't see that going on so much this time. I fault the performance, or if it isn't the actress's take, the direction. Lulu could say the same words without sounding self-righteous.

Ever since she became a reporter over night.
    She's so dense.

I have not liked LuLu since Julie Marie Berman left. The writers are partly to blame but I find the character obnoxious, self righteous and totally unbending. The writers having her be this ace reporter for starters was bogus. She owns the Haunted Star, That could be a place for lots of stuff to be happening. I just don't like the character and no offense to Emme but she has never been LuLu for me.

Lulu is a legacy character. Valerie was a recent creation and she never really took off. I can't really compare the two.

Both Maxie and Lulu are the most annoying non-criminals.

I was never a fan of JB's Lulu and loved Lulu after ER took over. But these past couple of years, all she does is screech and rant. I loved her during the Dante/Valerie situation but now she's become as unbearable as Valerie was. Some of my biggest turnoffs with her are the scenes with Brooklyn. She acts like she's on a trashy reality show.

They have totally ruined Lulu as far as I'm concerned. A grown woman fighting with another woman in a restaurant who shrieks at her mother in the same restaurant about her bratty child who she doesn't really seem to csare about because she's allowed her personal animosity get the better of her. Awful.

Before my latest viewing hiatus I pretty much FFd through all her scenes especially if they were with Dante, Sonny, Olivia, Nina or her kids.
I would watch some of her scenes with Laura (depending on the storyline), but that was more because of Laura, not Lulu. And I watched scenes with Valentin but again it was because of Valentin, not Lulu.
I thought Dustin was helping to chill her out a bit but it doesn't seem to be working.
Perhaps Lulu needs to go on an extended vacation and see if we miss her or if we don't and she becomes irrelevant and forgotten like her cousin Valerie.

I like Lulu too, but I was very disappointed in her. Come on Lulu, yeah Valentin is not the greatest character, but neither was your own father Luke, and Laura would have NEVER dreamed of keeping Lulu from him or any of their children.

Lulu doesn't bother me. What does bother me is when the writers use heavy handed methods to make her the bad guy in her stories, when she's not. Frankly, she's totally right about Valentin, but now we are being told to think of Valentin as a misunderstood victim? And what's with Maxie, Lulu's supposed best friend, badmouthing her to anyone who'll listen? Yes, Lulu can be whiny and nosy and annoying at times, but so can several other ladies in town.

it reminds me of the writing during the story of Dante cheating on Lulu with her own cousin and blaming Lulu for his behavior.
