I don't think you understand what it costs to have an animal on a set. There are laws that have to be met, including the handler on set, a vet on set, ambulances on set, increased insurance bought, etc... I remember when ME said we probably wouldn't see Roxie again, because when Roxie is on set, it costs GH more just have her there then typically costs for that entire shows actors salaries combined just to feature her in her aquarium on camera.

it's not like they would use a real snake or a cgi snake in "action" scenes on a soap budget.

the most we could have hoped for was some quick cuts and a rubber snake stand-in.

I agree. And Val isn’t gonna come clean to Laura at least? Charlotte should have had to tell her mom and apologize to Ava....

They could have used a rubber snake to avoid cruelty to animals or scaring children. They could have Finn then assure everyone the snake is not poisonous.
    It was all very anticlimactic.
Agreed! It would've only taken a minute to show that on screen...

BTW where was ROCCO at the party?

And it seems they do these odd jumps all the time. They spend forever on the build up....and them "poof", nothing. I would have gladly traded half of that party for watching people scatter from that snake and then it's capture.

I thought I had missed an episode. Cliff hanger and then no follow-up or fallout.

I also feel cheated that we didn"t see the snake scenes> Is the real reason budgetary? FV didn"t want pay for 2 days of extras?

I HATE snakes, but it was a disappointment that it was done this way. I really thought I had missed an episode.

Yep. I was waiting for the snake drop too because as you've said the drama would have been so much better.

Why would this be any different? He's never disciplined her for anything she does! What I think is going to happen (what I hope) is that if he tries to tell her that was wrong, she tells him that at least she didn't try to drown Ava by throwing her off of the parapet and that she saw him do it!

Like is so often the case with this show, all buildup, no payoff.

Once we saw that the snake wasn't even in the piñata, I was over it. I wanted to see the snake fall on a kid's head or something, so when it ended up in Ava's purse I just thought that was dumb.

It all kind of fell flat...and this coming from someone who doesn't even like snakes...I was ready to cover my eyes so I didn't have to see it again...but I didn't have to because it was already gone

I kind of liked the way they did not actually show the mayhem, but you hear about it through other people's recollections. So the scene exists in a slightly different way in everyone's mind. It's like when you read a book and love it, and then you see the movie based on the book and you don't love as much because the way a character or a scene was in your mind's eye was not the way the movie director portrayed it.
