  • Disappointed in the Snake Narritive

I was surprised that they seemed to pass over the snake episode so quickly. Unless I missed something, the whole thing was rushed today without showing much of what happened. I was actually hoping to see a bit more of it live including the interactions among the partygoers. All we heard was that Ava screamed.

What a let down. The whole creepy thing with the snake and now it is just over with no big ending. Does Valentin
know that Charlotte bought the snake? This show is so choppy that I can't keep up. They can't stay with one story
and a least give some drama before hopping off to another.

This was really disappointing. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have filmed Finn scooping up the snake as Ava shrieks and the kids squeal with delight . They already had the actors there. They could have used a rubber snake to avoid cruelty to animals or scaring children. They could have Finn then assure everyone the snake is not poisonous.
      It was all very anticlimactic.

They just jumped right to the part where Valentin knew Charlotte purchased the snake. She tried to lie about it, but he made her confess.

They made us wait an entire weekend and we got nothing for it. I wanted to see parents scoop and run with their kids and Anna and Finn running aroung trying to find out where the snake came from. Again, nothing.

I agree! I was late to the LT today and asked spouse what I missed - his reply: nothing.

So I learned after the fact that Finn grabbed the snake.
Ava is furious thinking Nicholas planted it.

Valentin puts 2+2 together real quick when he learns that a snake was in Ava's purse, because he checks his credit card statements (Mini PSA - check your onlne statements for fraudulent use) knowing he gave Charlotte access.

Charlotte squirms under Valentin's loving gaze as he tells her he figured out what she had done.

Where was Lulu in all this: not putting together a big canvas sack that her daughter arrives at the party with and leaves said party without it......

Ava reaction to the snake was a 5-10 sec reaction at the end of Thursday's eppy. It was a cliffhanger! The capture, Ava initially meeting up with NIcholas, and what became of the snake would have been appropriate. We get a limited Father/ daughter scene that I hope is continued tomorrow where Valentin disciplines his daughter.

I think Valentin said he gets a notification whenever his credit card is used

That's how he knew so quickly.

If he was waiting for his bill, it could be a couple of weeks later from the party.

Why would this be any different? He's never disciplined her for anything she does! What I think is going to happen (what I hope) is that if he tries to tell her that was wrong, she tells him that at least she didn't try to drown Ava by throwing her off of the parapet and that she saw him do it!

As Anna 74 said, it was extremely anticlimactic. Matter of fact most of the episodes they're airing now seem very inferior, which makes me wonder if they knew they were about to stop filming due to Coronavirus.

Maybe the speculation that all those flashbacks were added to stretch out the show wasn't correct.

If today is the end of the party/clean up then to me it seems as if they were never intending to show much about the snake escape itself.

I kind of liked the way they did not actually show the mayhem, but you hear about it through other people's recollections. So the scene exists in a slightly different way in everyone's mind. It's like when you read a book and love it, and then you see the movie based on the book and you don't love as much because the way a character or a scene was in your mind's eye was not the way the movie director portrayed it.

It all kind of fell flat...and this coming from someone who doesn't even like snakes...I was ready to cover my eyes so I didn't have to see it again...but I didn't have to because it was already gone

Once we saw that the snake wasn't even in the piñata, I was over it. I wanted to see the snake fall on a kid's head or something, so when it ended up in Ava's purse I just thought that was dumb.

Yep. I was waiting for the snake drop too because as you've said the drama would have been so much better.

Like is so often the case with this show, all buildup, no payoff.

I HATE snakes, but it was a disappointment that it was done this way. I really thought I had missed an episode.

I also feel cheated that we didn"t see the snake scenes> Is the real reason budgetary? FV didn"t want pay for 2 days of extras?

I don't think you understand what it costs to have an animal on a set. There are laws that have to be met, including the handler on set, a vet on set, ambulances on set, increased insurance bought, etc... I remember when ME said we probably wouldn't see Roxie again, because when Roxie is on set, it costs GH more just have her there then typically costs for that entire shows actors salaries combined just to feature her in her aquarium on camera.
