  • Valentine a good father would have

Grabbed Charlotte by the arm and marched her Hiney over to Ava to apologize for the snake then she would have called Anna and apologized and then every child at the party ...Damned spoilt brat

Charlotte uses the excuse of it not being venomous. But like...what if no one had realized that? We're lucky Finn knows his reptiles. In any case, Valentin needs to get this kid some therapy because she's done other things. And he certainly wasn't shocked that she did this.

They are lucky! The snake is especially lucky. I wonder if Finn and Violet kept her.

Grabbing a kid by the arm... now a day will get ya a charge of child abuse...Yes and make a scene to Embarass her in public... I would never do that to a child... it would makes things a lot worse...Valentine handled it well... He was in shock that she knew things and he did what any good Father would have done... JMO of course... No need to embarass her in public...

    Valentin might need therapy himself.

I think she saw her dad push Ava and it messed her up even more than she already was.

It wasn't Ava's fault that the wedding didn't go through. Valentin caused that himself.

This is exactly it. And now Charlotte thinks she can do whatever she wants since she saw Papa do a really bad thing.

Now he has told her that Ava is her enemy. Sort of giving her the green light. But interesting that he said Ava is the enemy but didn't say anything about Nik. I was glad to see Nikolas interact with Charlotte and finally apologize to her.

I'm waiting for someone to point out to that brat that everything she's feeling about having to leave Windemere is the same that Spencer felt when she smugly told him that SHE lived there now.

It's a shame my mother-in-law wasn't there - she would have instinctively killed the snake when she saw it. lol

A lot of people thought so at the time, I didn't. But now I think you and they are right.

I agree with the posters who thought Charlotte saw Nikolas push Ava. At the end of the episode (I believe it was the preview for today), Charlotte is talking to her father and she that it wasn't what he said, but what he did. So, maybe we are moving towards Charlotte telling the truth -- that she did see her father push Ava off the balcony.

But if that's true, then she knows what her father is capable of and yet she continues to blame others for their actions but not him. This poor child seems to have Stockholm syndrome. Everyone around her is an enemy but her beloved papa (who is truly the devil) is the only perfect person? I hope the people who love Charlotte can help set her moral compass back to normal. She's a cute kid and a great little actress, but I don't like where this mean child act is going. I really don't think we need a mini Helena.

It is a little funny whether or not Charlotte saw the push to think that a man who tried to kill Ava would discipline his child for scaring Ava with a little snake.

If he isn't a complete sociopath, hopefully he wouldn't want Charlotte to be just like him.

Originally, he agreed with Willow about Charlotte's behavior in the class needing to be addressed. He and Lulu were both in agreement. He only changed his tune because of Nina.

Wow. Valentin just heard about the snake at the party and asked Charlotte about it. He didn't accept her lie that it was for class. He got the truth out of her. He told her Ava was not the only reason Nina and he aren't married. And then the show ended. Why not wait until today to see what Valentin does before crucifying him for being a terrible dad?

I don't think that we've seen the whole of the interaction between Valentin and Charlotte, so maybe I'm being too quick to judge, but there is a lot going on here:

                        1) Valentin hasn't yet made Charlotte face any consequences for her misdeeds, which include trying to frighten Ava (he probably doesn't care), risking ruining Violet's party (he probably doesn't care) and endangering the poor snake.

                        2) It appears that Valentin isn't going to tell his daughter the truth. She's laboring under a lot of misconceptions, but most of the things that have gone wrong for Charlotte are directly Valentin's fault. For instance, she wouldn't have had to grieve for her first mommy if Valentin hadn't made her disappear and told Charlotte mommy was dead. I don't expect Valentin to tell his daughter the whole truth -- "I robbed your mother of choice over her body, I shot her brother, tried to kill her mother, tried to kill her and your former stepdad Dante, and that's why she doesn't like me." But he could tell her a cleaned-up version of his involvement in his breakup with Nina. And he could also present a version of the Wyndemere dispute that would clear up some of the resentment that is eating Charlotte alive: "Wyndermere belonged to Nikolas first. When Nikolas was believed to be dead, I thought I had inherited it under the terms of his grandfather's will, but that turned out not to be the case, so now the property belongs to Nikolas and we will get another house. And Nina would have broken up with me even if we still lived in Wyndermere."

                        3) Valentin never seems to share any information with Lulu. Like when Cassandra kidnapped Charlotte, he screamed that it was all Lulu's fault and he would go for sole custody, but he never bothered to tell Charlotte's mother that the reason that Charlotte went with Cassandra was that Cassandra threatened Nina. Plus, from what Lulu told Maxie, Valentin gave Charlotte the credit card over Lulu's objections. How is Lulu supposed to be an effective parent when Valentin is throwing roadblocks at her at every chance?

Hopefully, there's still a chance that will happen. Didn't Valentine find out after Ava stormed out of there, with Nik following?

The last thing Valentine said was that losing Wyndemere wasn't all Ava's fault. There could be more to follow.

Valentine's a creep, but he seems to retain some common sense when Nina isn't around to cheerlead Charlotte's actions, good and bad.
