10 years. That's impressive. Michael's come a long way since then. Before CD, Michael was kind of defined by his anger issues and reckless attitude. I've enjoyed watching Michael evolve over the years and mature. CD definitely earned his Emmy with the Hallowedding performance.

The guy who played Michael before Chad is the only one who played him angry. Young Michael was not angry.

I will admit when CD first came on as Michael, I wasn't sold on him. I remember he took over the role from another actor Drew Garrett. But since CD has been on, he has truly impressed me! He took the role of Michael and made it his own. More importantly, he grew Michael up in the process. This was a recast that definitely worked!

I agree with you 100%. I was used to Drew Garrett and not happy he was being replaced after about a year. (Drew was playing Michael when I first got into GH, and I was used to him in the role when it was announced he was leaving.) Chad has done a lot with the role of Michael, now I can't imagine anyone else playing him.

I get that it's a matter of opinion but to me if either of those pairings had been that successful they would still be around. Both women were unceremoniously killed and Michael himself doesn't even really seem to acknowledge their existence at this point.

Both of those women were killed off by incoming head-writers. GW created Abby, and RC killed her off. RC created Sabrina, and then JP/SA killed her off (rather graphically and cruelly).

Congrats Chad for sticking it out for ten years. When the writers give him lemonade to work with instead of ALL lemons - he can really shine. Please can we give him more MEANINGFUL stories - and a TRUE romance that can actually WORK for him this time.

For me a successful couple is evident based on the chemistry they exude long before they become an official couple. Honestly, that's usually when the writers put the most effort into building the actual romance. Once people become an official couple it's usually pretty uneventful until they decide to introduce some drama other than the occasional holiday fluff scenes. Willow and Michael have been in each other's circle for some time now and I'm just not seeing it, their story pretty much is just Willow's attachment to Wiley.

As for 10 years of CD he's been great in many story lines in the past but as of yet he hasn't been leading man material. Too many failed romances and not enough stories where he actually stands on his own. I still maintain that the Wiley reveal was one of the most cringeworthy reveals... and indicative of how minimized Michael has become.

love CD, he is probably one of my favorite soap actors of all time. Michael is probably one of my favorite parts of the show, largely due to CD's portrayal.
I also think Michael/Sasha and Chase/Willow are mismatched and would work better swapped. I also love Michael's evolution over the last ten years. So happy CD has made it ten years on the show!

RIGHT! She was cute, funny, loyal and shady all at the same time and they had chemistry. If that relationship had been allowed to breathe and that actress had been given more of a chance to shine, they might have had something b/w her and Michael. I can see both sides of his family being opposed to her because she was a bit of a con and just think, if they kept her around and in Michael's orbit, they could have gotten some mileage out of her being Brad's ex-wife and friend when all this baby stuff happened. If they had her and Michael together but she knew and kept Brad's secret, that would have been so much more interesting than Julian keeping Brad's secret. She also would have been a better match to battle Nelle than either Sasha or Willow's simpering selves.
