There's already a thread about this.

California's stay-at-home order is currently in place until May 15th, and it seems like GH will run out of episodes not long after that. So if production doesn't resume until say June or July, do you think GH will implement a time jump? I think it would be awkward to try to pick right back up and pretend like a month hasn't passed.

All I can imagine is there could possibly be no more mouth to mouth kissing scenes, and maybe no more touching either.

I think a lot will depend on how they interact depending on when mass testing gets out. I could see the entertainment/sports industry getting 2nd or 3rd crack after healthcare and first responders/law enforcement.

I would be fine if they did a 3-month fast forward basically addressing everyone in PC hunkered down and were now physically distancing. I expect we will see the children even less on the show until this is under control and a even less "love in the afternoon." That would work with Michael and Willow though since it is supposed to be a marriage of convenience!

IF we, the viewers, accept the differences because we understand the medical reasons behind it, then yes, I think the show can be different for as long as it takes.
I agree, no large gatherings or things like crowded hospital room or courtroom scenes.

We COULD see a few people released from jail or prison as it has happened IRL...
I expect they will keep it close to real, without hammering home the cause.
We know, they know, they know we know, it's all good.

The cast and crew of TV shows and movies and live performances need their revenue as much as anyone else does. They have families and obligations and counted on their contracts or other status on the show to have a certain income, I'd think.

I hope every viewer will return with joy in their heart. I know I will ( actually will not LEAVE during the reruns and things either) .

I don't want the show to be trashed by fanfic or personal agendas.
It makes sense to go forward in a linear fashion from the last script that aired.

Also, I do NOT think it will be a hugely long time before the show is back on air with new episodes. I live in a state that is opening the businesses and houses back up slowly and it's likely a test case for other states. I believe we will have success in stages.

There could be a few changes such as omission of a few people who fit into the category of " advanced age" if they want to stay away. I will not name the two main ones- they are darling men with silver/ white hair, so are obvious to us all.
I would expect less makeup and hair by staff, but who among the cast can't do their own hair and makeup by now?
I do NOT expect to see the children back for probably 6 months... depending on the availability of virus testing, of antibody testing and so forth for the children and the entire cast and crew that comes in contact with a child actor or actress.

I see children off set as being the likely largest difference. It's going to be sad not to see little Violet with Anna and Finn, as I truly think she's a precious darling child. It will be almost unbearable not to at least have the adults in court to hammer out Wiley's future custody but then- no Wiley...

The world still turns, but it's a different world. I hope there has been no loss of cast or crew to the illness, or of their families either.

I think they'll be back filming around the end of June early July.
I doubt they'll time jump but u do expect that we'll see a difference in how people in screen interact. I think less PDA and more of say, conversions around the island in Sony's kitchen.

I think the actors will want to put distance between themselves for a while.

I expect to see a whole lot of PDA...although you would think instead of filling in the blanks with that.... they would give us the wrapping up of stories and new ones with thought and meat in them..after all they've had all this time to put some real effort into their work..I want some backbone in both Michael and Nicholas..they both have amazing inner strength...it's now time for it to show on the outside..in business and their personal lives...and Jason..give him some inner growth as well....

I'm not sure a time jump is needed or practical. Unless we truly go an extended period of time without new episodes, like into the fall.

I'm more concerned about how GH would resume filming while trying to ensure the cast and crew's safety. You obviously wouldn't want to do a big "event" like the Nurses' Ball. Or love scenes. Could they stick to small groups of actors working together and make the stories work?

I'm kind of hoping they do a bit of a time jump. I am sure they could do that without progressing the biggest storylines past a conclusion. It could be really interesting to take a week or so to quickly move through some of the stories and bring the viewers to a whole new landscape. Plots move so slowly on daytime shows that it would be refreshing to have the pace quickened for a few weeks when they return.

A time skip could be great for tension and mystery setups. Treat it like a new season.

Why would they jump ahead? Just because real time did? Or is this being considered by GH writers

That would be awesome! A nod to the reality of actual current events without making it part of the storyline.
