I'm not one to tolerate kids disrespecting their parents (or any adult, for that matter), but Nikolas definitely needed to hear from the one his scheme affected the most.

I was proud of Spencer. He could be happy that his dad was alive and still be angry that it took him 3 years to reach out to him. I felt Spencer's pain and im glad he didn't just forgive and forget likeAva wanted him to. Spencer has every right to feel what he is feeling. Bottom line is that Nik really did care about the money and revenge over his family .

I thought Spencer would have been a little more understanding. Spencer himself was pretty concerned with getting his inheritance and Wyndemere back. Maybe that realization will hit him later

In addition to Nicholas abandoning his son, he allowed Ava, practically a stranger to Spencer, and the woman who was responsible for his cousin Morgan's death, to approach Spencer and speak on his behalf. Having Ava in the room was an insult to injury as far as I'm concerned. It's as if Spencer was alone in the world, with no back up. Nicholas had Ava. The two of them against a child. How dare them!
The actor who played Spencer made me cry today!

I'm going to disagree with you here. Ava didn't blow up Morgan, she tampered with his meds, a bit of a difference. As to this, Ava and Spencer do have a history, and Ava was using her own pain to try to convince Spencer to give his father a chance. She wasn't making it about herself. She was doing, for once, the work of angels.

NB was fantastic in those scenes. I'm so glad he was asked to return because I don't think I would be that much into this story if it weren't for him. Spencer's anger was on the mark.

His anger at Valentin was as much about hurt and grief, not complete selfishness.
Spencer has every right to be angry at Nik and Nik needs to make it up to him
He is not going to be too happy when he finds out Nik married Ava either, She betrayed him too - even after he befriended her when she had her injury.

I said in the beginning of Nik's return that Spencer was going to be angry and turn away from his father. When Nik 'died' Spencer was a child who ended up being sent away, far away and away from everybody he loved and everything he knew. He spent a lonely 3 years mourning the loss of his father. And now he finds out his father did this for the money?
I don't expect Spencer to forgive him any time soon.
I would love to see Spencer return to PC and being with Laura and Kevin so Kevin could help him deal with all of this.

I felt like all characters were very well portrayed. Spencer was wonderful and went toe to toe with the adults. I was glad he was not over the top. I also felt for Ava as she tried to make Spencer understand that he may not have another chance to let his father love him without bringing Kiki's name into it. I also saw the understated way they showed Nik as he listened, that he was seeing how much Ava was hurting and how she felt alone. I do not think the scene would have the same impact on the storyline of Laura had gone. I, for one, am anxious to see where they go from him. One other thing I noted, Spencer told Nik he could have come to see him in France and No One would know. Val has been having Spencer watched.

I know he was wrong in the way he handled things but I would have thought his family would have been glad he was alive but it seems they would have preferred he were still dead at least that is the way they act. His mother, his sister and his son. They all forget he is a Cassidine. I would be thanking God he is alive instead of blessing him out every time I see them. If I were him I would go away and let them wonder what has happened to him and maybe they would be grateful he is alive.
They all keep saying he is the good Cassidine, there is no good Cassidine. This is what they do. They do what is needed to survive.

He let Spencer, a minor, think he was dead for THREE years. He let Spencer face off against Valentin, his would-be killer, and Valentin threatened that child so much, Laura had to send him to Europe. Nic can suffer a bit. He deserves it.

I believe Nik handled the situation very badly. That being said, he is/was right when he told Laura and Lulu that had he come back before he was strong enough to handle Valentin that Val would have probably tried to kill him again. If Val had had any inkling that Nik was still alive he would have used Laura, Lulu and Spencer to try to smoke him out. He had already attempted to kidnap Spencer, and who knows what he would have done to him if Sonny had not thwarted his plans. Val has shown he has no compunctions regarding taking anyone's life if he feels threatened in any way. I just don't understand how they cannot believe this. If Kevin had not taken that bullet, Laura might already be dead! Val sabotaged the plane to kill EVERYONE on it. Just because he was not successful, didn't mean he would not try again or that he wasn't a real threat! On the other hand, Nik knows that Laura and Spencer can keep secrets while acting as if they, too, believe what everyone else believes. Spencer kept Nik's first fake death a secret (even from Laura) and Laura kept Nik's whole existence a secret. He could have gotten word to Laura and she could have told Spencer on one of her many trips to Paris. Lulu being an emotional blabbermouth would have just had to suck it up along with everyone else. LOL
