I have to say, I'm not thrilled about Ryan running around town unchecked, but ... I'm thrilled that in the past few days we have seen Mac, Felicia, Lucy, Kevin/Ryan, Laura and even Monica today! Wow, I can't remember a recent time when so many Vets have graced our screens and have story lines. As a 40+ year viewer of this show, it feels really good and old school GH to see them on screen again lately.

CLOUDFARE Security Message
Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.
This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.
Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.
The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

As another long term viewer, I agree. Now let's hope they don't kill off any of the characters you mentioned.. Except Ryan can get sent far, far away. .. (we'll still have Kevin)

Sadly I fear for more impact and they are the only ones that Ryan really knows that one of The Vets are going to be one of his victims...so as much as hate it to be Lucy...I think I could accept it...since I could't bare it being Felicia, Mac, Bobbie, Monica, Scotty...or even worse Laura...but hopefully Lucy somehow survives it too?

I am thanking God that they are finally starting this S/L and that Genie Francis is back one month early! She's been gone such a long time. I wonder how she'll fit in now, besides being on the hospital board. I still wish Laura could be mayor.
Jon has been doing a fabulous job playing the conniving and deceitful Ryan. Like with Felicia today. He is one scary dude.
And yes, I love the vets. The only thing that would make me happier is a return of Holly and Robert as a couple. I still miss them. And Ethan should've been their son, not Luke's.

Although I am not young. I am not a long-term viewer of GH. I do not believe in the phrase 'let's make GH great again' by highlighting the entertainers of years ago. It is o'k to show them at times. But I do not believe that GH will continue to survive if the program becomes geared toward just the entertainers that long-time and gradually leaving viewers only want to see. But, I realize that I'm fighting a losing battle here that frankly is not worth the fight.

Yet to have them run story, consistently won't appeal to the demos advertisers are attempting to attract They just don't care and GH gotta pay the bills.
I still think to showcase vintage GH, like The Collection series is an answer to bringing younger and newer viewers up to speed, so that we do care.

I couldn't disagree more. Soap operas are a unique medium because they last for decades. Viewers WANT to see their vets, especially running story. I don't care at all about newbies who have zero ties to a storyline or a character, and GH was making a huge mistake by introducing so many and giving them front-burner storylines. Soaps are ALL about vets. Y&R is getting serious blowback for getting rid of their vets, and GH is finally doing the opposite. There are enough young and interesting characters to lure in new, younger viewers, but that doesn't mean that the writers should forget about those of us who have been watching for decades. Like I said, soaps are unique; they are not like primetime television where shows might last five years if they are lucky.

I understand the sentiment Maxum and advertising doesn't. They pay the bills. They're about the demographic most likely to buy. It's all about the money. 4 SOAPS remaining proves that.
And I still think, a regular viewing like, The Collection, will give opportunity to many of us to care about the characters, so many love and want front & center.
Personally, for example, I didn't know "Laura" I don't have the same kind of attachment to this character, as you may have. A selection of episodes would be ideal.

@jaxjoy. TPTB can't seem to figure out that older people have more money than younger people, and from what I see as commericals on tv, most of it is geared to regular people and not necessarily the younger demographic. I mean it's car commercials, cosmetics, aging creams, phone plans, food, etc. How does that exclude an older audience? The ratings have been down for GH with all their years of newbies and boring storylines involving them. Vets are very important to a soap opera, and I think plenty of young people love their soap vets too. As for Laura, it's okay that you weren't connected to her way back when, but whether you like her as a character. I agree that TPTB should use their "repeat" times more wisely by showing vintage GH with the vets we have on the show now.
