CLOUDFARE Security Message

Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.

This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.

Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.

The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

    Just started watching GH a month ago...some thoughts...

    Long time stalker. First time poster.

    So far my two favorite characters hands down are Drew and Carly. I also really, really like Franco but I've seen mixed reception from him online but I love the actor who plays him. I remember when he was on ATWT.

    Other characters I like are Mike (Sonny's dad), Jason, Peter, Julian, and Josslyn.

    Everyone else is pretty meh. The only characters I don't really like are Jordan, Kiki, and Sam. Sam...I think I dislike her mainly because of the actress. I remember seeing her years ago on Dancing with the Stars and she had such a bad attitude. It kind of soured me on her. I'm trying to have an open mind but the scenes she's in make me want to roll my eyes.

    As far as storylines go, I'm kind of digging the Oscar has cancer one. I like how protective it makes Drew. I was getting all kinds of feels when he was telling Julian to back off. Plus, this story is just what my angsty heart loves.

    I liked the Mike/Sonny arc of what to do when your dad gets alzheimer's but it has been drug out too long and I'm ready for it to be resolved.

    I'm not a huge fan of the Michael baby switch/snatch story, but I am looking forward to Carly's reaction when she finds out. Everybody better watch out.

    I do not care at all about the evil twin storyline. It's boring and it makes that older blonde squeaky lady (don't know her name) show up and I don't know how much I can handle of her voice.

    Also, I don't care about what's going on with that Anna DeVane chick. She seems OK but her storyline is boring.

    Couples...

    I'd like to see the writers give Kim and Drew a chance. I'm starting to see a little bit of chemistry there. I have a feeling Oscar's cancer will bring them closer together. Plus I don't see any vibes between him and the new DA. Also, I don't want him back with Sam. He needs somebody new.

    Kiki and Griffin are a much better pairing than Ava and Griffin.

    I wish Nina would forgive Valentin already. They seem like they really love each other.

    I'm OK with Maxie/Peter as long as we get to see more of his chest.

    Curtis deserves better than Jordan.

    I know Cameron and Josslyn are inevitable, but I just don't like the kid that much. Even though Oscar is played by a worse actor, I think I prefer him and Josslyn.

    I'm not feeling Elizabeth and Franco. She's too goody goody for him. I think he needs someone more evil in his life like an Ava.

      LOL. I haven't had anyone to talk to about the show. No one I know in real life watches it so when I got here I kind of just word vomited all my thoughts out.

    Welcome! This board is pretty strict about “actor bashing.” Criticizing an actor’s performance, ability or physical traits will usually result in deletion of your post (or thread). Your decision, of course, but you might want to take a quick read back through your post and edit out anything that could get you into trouble . . .

      LOL. I'm already in trouble after my first post. Sometimes I'm too blunt (and sarcastic, if I'm real honest) for my own good. Didn't realize calling an actor's performance cringey was "bashing." Wasn't meaning to bash. Just critiquing the actor's work. Guess we'll see how long I'll last on the board. Thanks for the heads up!

    I started watching in 2009 after GL went off the air. I have to admit that I never liked Sam. I think it is because she is supposed to be tough but she is always a damsel in distress, falling down because of her own stilettos. Lol. Drew is my current favorite. I like Kim as well. Maxie is cool. Current Lulu, not so cool. I liked the old Lulu a lot. I don't blame the actors for any of this, it is the writers who have let the characters down, imo.

      I've only seen Lulu a handful of times. I feel like if she had a more interesting storyline I could get into her character more. I do like how protective of Maxie she is though. I think that's really sweet.

    Well I love Sam and a good portion of the reason for that is because I absolutely love Kelly Monaco. For me, she's one of the reasons I hold onto this show. I also love Drew, and mostly because I've always loved Billy, even when he was the psycho on AMC.

    I like the Oscar story but I hate Kim so that part sucks for me. I'd rather Drew di this story with almost anyone but her.

    I love this Lulu, I love Maxie.. will always, always hate Franco, Ava and Valentin.

    oh and I've been watching since 1985 when I was 5 years old, not long before Robin showed up

      Oh, Billy was on AMC? I didn't realize that. I watched while I was in college (2003-2007ish) and I don't remember seeing him. I probably would have loved him in that show too. I definitely think he's one of the best actors on the show.

      Yeah, his character was much like Will deVry's character on AMC...both were a total horror show.

    I love love love hearing what a new viewer has to say about GH characters & storylines. Unfortunately hard to find I think. So thx for that.

    Cuz its fun to hear & learn from ‘new eyes & ears’ who can more easily see the characters (especially long term characters) for who they are NOW in CURRENT storyline ....without any prior notions or expectations or strong whatever whatever.

    Though everyone on GH has a soapy soap past. So I recommend eventually checking out some history if u haven’t already. If u do please let us know what past things shocked u, lol.

      Glad to be of service, LOL. Withstanding a couple of storylines, I'm really enjoying the show. When I watched Days, I was really bad about reading spoilers, but with GH I've tried to steer clear of them. I think that adds to the enjoyment because I don't these characters that well so I'm not sure what they'll do or how they'll react. It makes it a lot more fun to watch.

      I've dug a little into Drew's past (because I'm super obsessed with him), but not really any of the other characters. I wish there was a youtube video I could watch that recapped major characters.

      Also, I'm super happy to have found this board so I have others to talk to!

      It was the same for me also polkadottulip, I did not know anyone that watched it and I myself had taken a long hiatus from soaps. I did get a friend back into it though in the past year but we do not talk everyday and the board is here 24/7....lol
      I look as much past things up on the computer but there have been many here that have answered my questions on things I could not figure out,,,,like people coming back from the dead etc!
      I still consider myself a new viewer because I had not watched it since Lila & Edward,,,Alan & Monica, Luke & Laura so ALOT has happened since then. I am trying to remember if the nurses still wore uniforms and nurse caps then. Seems so long ago.

        Welcome. Always refreshing to hear new thoughts. Started watching as a kid because of my grandmother. Liz had me glued. Loved her .Now I feel like she's on stand by so to speak as if the writers are trying to cement her in something but I don't know what it is.

        Sam loved her when she came on being a proud homewrefker. She got with Jason and I don't know what happened to that character.

        Franco first played James Framco was awesome in the aspect that invincible Jason finally wasn't invincible anymore. I hate that he was recasted and brought back but TBH his relationship with Carly softened me to him and being with Nina gave him layers so made him tolerable for me when he got with Liz but then the way he was all for Liz I loved and slowly started loving him.

        Loathe Sonny. Tired of everyone being the bad guy but he can drug, kidnap, kill, steal kids and torture ppl yet he's awesome. Please .

        Miss old Carly. I called her Hurricane Carly. This Carly believe it or not is watered down.

        Love Drew from the minute he debuted.

        Kim is alright for me because I feel she is the shadiest one on the show right now.

        The Jerome', Ava and Julian are by far my favorite additions and I hope they go no where.

        As for storylines, I think it's meh. We barely have friendships, and I miss the days when people had legit beef and it was couples vs couples, friends vs friends. Now we have the Sonny show and friends. Ridiculous.

        Used to love Jason until the whole Franco mess and he wanted Sam to abort her baby because he thought it was Francos. That was real low for me.

        Loved old Lulu because she was a Carly mini me. This one needs to be killed Asap and I used to like Maxie but (no actress bashing) something is off about her lately.

        Love Nina but I feel like she is being wasted. I was hoping she'd be a formidable for for Carly and they barely interact. Imagine Carly having to deal with bat crazy Nina. I'd be glued.

          I haven't watched long enough to see bat crazy Nina. She seems fairly normal currently.

          I do like Ava and Julian as a duo. They are hilarious. I think Ava treats Kiki like crap and I'm not feeling her and Griffin. Other than that, I like her. Ava doesn't seem too far away from the Carly the actress played on ATWT.

          Sonny is kind of meh for me. I don't have strong feelings for him either way. I do think his moments with his dad are pretty cute. I feel you on the Sonny and friends show. They are pretty heavy on storylines related to Sonny and his crew.

          polkadottulip you def need to live on YouTube for a bit. Whaaattt..Nina is CRAY and I love it. Watch from Ava debuted to see her and Kiki relationship. At one point from Kiki's mouth she was the best mom . At the time I agreed because unlike Sonny, Ava was dabbling in the mob and her daughter wasnt involved and barely knew unlike Sonny who literally every kid he has, gotten harmed by the mob (Michael shot in the head, Kristina almost blown up, Dante shot in the chest, and Morgan was blown up.) Ava got the hots for Kiki's man and dived in for the kill when Kiki was banging his brother and playing both of them. Then she went on to drug the latter. She's Ava in sheep's clothing. I was on Ava's side the whole time in the trist because Kiki was being so evil for absolutely no reason. No body did anything to her at the time. At least Ava acts out when she's pissed. Kiki gets bored and wreaks havok. I disagreed with Ava when she came back from the "dead" as some made up Aunt and still slept with Morgan. That was uncalled for . But the Griffin and Kiki crap I'm on Ava side. You know she "changed " for this man and you praising her for months for "changing" then bangs her boo and tells him not to tell her because you know she's gonna "revert" ...so why did ya do it.

          And Sonny is a joke. For me he either needs to go to jail for real like give the actor a 3 year vacay or give a compelling story about him leaving the mob for good and I think that can be executed with Anna as he love interest if they bond over Duke. I would say Carly but she likes villain peen too much.

        Welcome to GH! It definitely is interesting to see the thoughts of a new viewer. A lot of the characters and storylines you don't like belong to the veteran cast of GH (Anna's been on since the 80's, same with 'the squeaky girl', whose name is actually Felicia, Lucy as well. Kevin/Ryan and Mac since the very early 90s). Anna and Felicia are kind of legendary on this show because of the larger than life storylines they had in the shows prime. It might help to go look up some of their original stories. For me, even though i wasn't around for any of their original runs, it definitely helped me gain an appreciation for their characters, and their legacies even if their current storylines aren't up to par with what they used to be.So much of them are on YouTube. Anna's done everything from chasing a train on a horse and jumping on the train from said horse to stop a bomb (doing her own stunts i may add), to drop kicking bad guys in every direction in her super spy days. Felicia was an Aztec princess that lived in Mexico and one half of a super couple, Frisco and Felicia. Plus the story with her and Bobbie in the 90's where Maxie needed a heart transplant, and Bobbie's daughter gave it to her gave her one of the most iconic scenes of all time on this show.

        I'm just happy that they're still around for the viewers that have watched since then, or viewers that at least appreciate that they need to be on the canvas with a story. I don't think any soap is as good as they once were and that's mainly cause 80 percent of their budget has been cut since those days so seeing bits and pieces of their rich history is always welcome in my book.

            Whenever I have tried to learn about a hit soap couple (or character) I find if I google an abbreviation of the soap then add the first names of the characters, i.e. GH Drew, I can then try to find a frequent video poster....study he or she’s account.... and they will often have a playlist. Just a suggestion if u haven’t tried this trick b4.

              That’s too bad about Sam. She’s my absolute favourite on this show. Kelly is pretty much the reason why. I think she’s a doll and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. I don’t remember her ever having a bad attitude on dancing with the stars and I watched both seasons she competed in. Oh well can’t win them all.

                Even though I've watched GH forever when I need to refresh my memory of history I go to Wikipedia and search the character. A quick read I prefer to watching many minutes of youtuber. Just a suggestion....

                Even though we're not supposed to, I agree with your actor "bashing" - I've thought the same since he was first introduced. It's just an opinion and many many here will disagree.
