GH is as dull as it's EVER been! Please inject some life into the show!

There is nothing going on. No real soapy drama, no excitement, no action (something GH was known for), no secrets or lies, no rivalries, no interesting romances, no villains, no cliffhangers, no one being exposed. Just flat, boring monotone shows every weekday with the characters repeating the same dialogue EVERYDAY, seemingly EVERY scene. The characters' convos are basically recap after recap of the same boring happenings. You can legit miss a month of GH and they'd still be saying the same exact lines. I know it's standard for soaps to drag/repeat but this is overkill!

All the life has been sucked out of the characters and everyone is just so boring, sad, depressed or whining about whatever their boring SL is. OMG do something! The last (and only) interesting thing going was Nelle. At least she got people talking and things moving.

Sam, what is she doing now? Nothing. Just in limbo for no good reason.
Drew has been a dud and has had nothing going on since Dream split. Completely irrelevant and they couldn't even write him the story that practically told itself!
Jason's return WASTED. No SL of his own, no exploring the past 5 years, no rekindled romance, no action, just sits and listens to Carson vent.
Kim & Oscar useless and BORING. Not one single interesting thing has went on with Kim yet since she's been on the show? How is that possible for a newbie?
Julian is neutered and boring now. Owner of a bar with nothing else going on really? William Devry really?
Elizabeth omg we lost her a long time ago. Her only purpose is to talk about Franco. They never give her anything. At least RC gave her stories.
Michael sad sad sad. What's new? Sad.
Anna with a side of Finn. Kidnapped every 2 weeks but it's never interesting or action filled.
Kristina brought back to snap at Alexis every 5 min while worshipping Sonny.
Sonny = Sully/dead body/Mike talk. Rinse, wash, repeat.
Griffin boring and sanctimonious.
Nina still whining about the same thing for YEARS.
Valentine the supposed "scariest Cassadine of them all" has been nothing but Nina's puppy dog. Every day it's, "how can I kiss up to Nina?" Give him something else to do.
Maxie, boring! I miss old Maxie.
Brad & Lucas get dusted off nowadays to push the plot. And it's still mostly just Brad making scared faces everyday. I remember Britt's baby stealing SL had about 5 twists throughout it under RC.

There is nothing "must see" going on right now. Nothing juicy to promote for a commercial. They don't even try for sweeps anymore, that's just ignored now. Mostly the shows consists of all the characters moping about something. SA isn't creative in the slightest.


I love GH but the show is soooo dull. The most boring it's ever been. I hold out hope wishing they'd can SA or she'd retire with JP but still, nothing. SA just doesn't know how to write for soaps I'm sorry. Brought Y&R to record lows and got axed and now dragging GH down. GH has the exact same lifeless boring vibe Y&R had back when she was writing for them before they got rid of her.

Well I'm only disappointed with the whole Jason build up months ago and nothing has happened with him that warranted the build up. He was supposed to inject a lot
of interest in the show and he is only shown with Sonny talking. He and Sam nothing except the little cheek kiss. They haven't even had a real heart to heart about
the kids or their lives. He could visit and have time with the kids and Sam. Dinner something. They are letting him flounder around with not real storyline. Either hook
him up with Sam or bring in another romance for him. Michael could use someone nice too. Not a sleaze.

I'm not sure it's all dull, rather characters being put on
hold UNTIL .. not sure what the until is. Laura is coming
back so I expect movement on the Ryan/Kevin s/l, Oscar
has been told so I expect a lot of emphasis will be placed on
how Joss/Oscar deal with his cancer. I always enjoy Mike/Sonny
Alzheimer's story, I did like the humanity of Oscar/Jason
scenes, as Nina explaining to Charlotte about the divorce.

I have no interest in Brad's whoa's or guilt over what he did.
I just want this s/l to end. Have no interest in Liz/Franco,
everyone else just seems on hold, just there. So on this

And that's an excellent description of the show. There doesn't seem to be any one steering the ship, it just drifts along, randomly bumping into the scenes set for that day.

Nielsen is in the middle of switching from paper diaries to electronic in mid and small markets (they are actually behind schedule), but it will take several months of testing, etc. before there is continuous measurement (which would end sweeps). I have the feeling sweeps will be around next year and maybe into 2020. They don't generally move quickly on these things since so much money is at stake and they want to make sure the technology and everything else is working correctly.

There will be sweeps this November, and the show will start picking up storyline-wise this month.

Krissy is perfect for the job, undying loyalty to Sonny and she's already back in town covering for Mike and disposing of evidence. Too bad they don't even write for the mob anymore!

I don't know that the show needs new characters. They just need to more fully utilize more than just the three that are on practically every episode.

I haven't watched in months, mainly because it was boring. I do agree that the whole Jason return was wasted storytelling. There was so much potential with him. Jason could suffer from PTSD, or have withdrawal effects for the drugs that were in his system, nightmares from when he was under the influence or maybe tortured. His building a relationship with his sons and friends. And most importantly finding out what happened to him for the last 5 years. Never cared for Julian or Valentine. Don't know why Oscar was brought on either. Drew also was a wasted storyline so much to tell how he feels about finding out who he is, exploring his military background, finding out about his past, where did he grow up, friends, does he have a significant other, how was he captured and aside from the mind mapping what else was done to him. The only bright spot on this show is that they FINALLY aged Cameron.

That's a good assessment, OP. The show is a chore to watch right now. Its the same old characters in the same old storylines and nothing feels fresh. I think GH needs an infusion of youth and for them to shake things up. The Kevin/Ryan s/l combined with Laura's return is the one bright spot on this show. Jon Lindstrom is killing it and I'm happy Genie is back even though I hate to admit that sometimes I find Laura boring but that is in the writing and not GF's fault.

I don't think we need new characters but they need to use the characters they already have. We need a new EP and writers but no such luck. I miss the action and adventure,lve and all the soapy goodness. The only story that is pulling me in right now is the Ryan/Kevin story and the possibility of Michael and Maxie. I was enjoying the Mike and Sonny story until they brought in this dead body BS.

I am not here for another round of mother and daughter going round for round over yet again another guy.

Friz isn't my cup of tea, so i have no interest in them.

Drew should have been had his memories back and everyone is just playing musical flashdrive with his memories and now our latest DA is keeping his memories locked up for whatever reason.

I am already over Dawson going after Sonny. It;s played out and i wish the writers would have went in another direction .

We need a Hospital story and the #MeToo story was great but we need something BIG and exciting !!!!!!

The Mob is not front and center even though some believe it is but if it was then we would be seeing more action from both Sonny and Jason. There is no current Mob story being told right now, all this mess with the body and gun and Dawson is focused on past events and not the present.

Hell, give the cops some action as well.They need something to do besides just talk about the same thing every day.

I agree the show is exceptionally boring, they seem to be trying to get cancelled. The fact that the writers and producers seem extra pleased with themselves currently is not making me optimistic that it is going to turn around. They seem to like it like this.

Life is too short to watch TV that you think is terrible. I'm enjoying the show right now, especially today. But if I was as miserable as you seem to be, I'd move on. I left gh once ages ago until I finally returned and once I left OLTL (over Todd) and I never returned.

Good advice. It took me awhile to move on so to speak because I was incredibly loyal to GH. I actually felt guilty if I did not watch because I know how close this show is to getting the ax and it needs every viewer it can scrounge. GH cannot go on forever with the numbers it has.. eventually it will either need to improve in the key demos or ABC will pull the plug when it figures out what else to put in its time slot. I do think you gave good advice but, I also think if someone really loves GH they will want people to keep watching and want to encourage them to do so. GH does not have a big margin to fall before ABC cancels, that would be a bummer for anyone who is actually enjoying this borefest.
Anyway.. I have barely been watching. I will catch a show every once in awhile or watch a clip online.. You are right life is too short and there are far better things to do these days.

OK I guess Kim and Oscar's story line is OK since she kept from the fact that Oscar had cancer and she didn't tell him and the Brad and Lucas is OK too want to find out what happens between Brad and Lucas when Lucas finds out that Brad has a stolen baby from Michael and he never gave up his rights to him since Nelle stole the baby from him and gave him her child since he lost his and will be interesting to hear his excuses as to why he took Nelle's baby and didn't tell him their first child died and this baby isn't there's but Michael's son
