I love Rafe. He’s a good guy, means well, but sometimes falters. But I don’t like him with Nicole. Nicole belongs with her first true love Eric.

I honestly don’t see the point of rafe any more. He sucks at his job, both Eli and Shawn made better commissioners. He has one family member in town he barely sees, unless it’s a plot point. He has never had a successful pairing. The closest he came was with Sami, and Jordan. He clearly has a type, vulnerable women, most of them have lost the love of their live. If the woman has kids that seems to be a draw. So Holly is next in line to be add to the long list of former step kids?

I believe that is exactly the reason. Rafe may claim otherwise, but these two haven't exactly been together very long. First they betrayed Ava, then they spent weeks or more acting like they did nothing wrong, so now they've had maybe a couple months together and he's popping the question? Not only that, but heavily sucking up to Holly first. I'm actually disgusted that when we FINALLY get to see Holly again, it's to prop Rafe leading into the proposal. And another stupid bear? I swear I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt! They're so juvenile together!

When it comes down to it, this is about Eric. It was clear that Rafe was uneasy when he found Eric at the apartment with Nicole. He knows the only reason they didn't work things out is because Nicole ruined their marriage (not Sami, not Xander) and Eric ran away. If he'd stayed in Salem, they would have eventually worked it out. So Rafe is trying to lock Nicole down before they get a chance.
