Why does Jan's baby need a room in the house?

She should be leaving to go back to prison a few days after baby is born, and then the baby's future will be out of her hands. None of this makes any sense to me. This dialogue and situation are mind-bendingly stupid.

Jan has big plans and so far she's making the decisions. Shawn needs to wake up and take control or no telling where

Shawn is the father, and most likely Jan will back to prison. If she doesn’t miscarry, I don’t think Shawn would ever give up his child, even with Jan being the mom. But this is the home Bope bought when Hope was pregnant with Zack. No need to convert the office, there has to be at least one spare room.

Shawn never should've let her stay at Belle and Shawn's house. He knows perfectly well what Jan is capable of. I hate that they have dumbed him down. Why the heck does she need a room. The baby isn't even born yet. If she doesn't like her current arrangement she can always go back to prison. Belle can easily take control of the situation with Jan. Don't give in to her. Jan will be pissed on not getting her way. Belle needs to play hardball with Jan.

Belle needs to use her lawyer skills to take control of the situation. Draw up papers to go for Shawn to have full custody as soon as the baby is born. I assume Jan has a prison sentence to finish. She murdered Charlie Dale. Plus, she has committed many other crimes. She is not fit to raise a child. There is no state in the US that would allow her custody of that child.Plus, they could make sure she is not allowed visitation. This story is so dumb. Belle is acting dumb, but Shawn is even dumber.

Well I don't think they even exist anymore anyways so I can't argue the point. But the child will be perfectly fine in a group home or foster family. Or it's life will be crap...but not Shawn's problem.

The whole thing is stupid. Being on bed rest doesn't mean you have to move in with someone, especially since you tried to kill their daughter. She could be in a number of care facilities until she gives birth then goes right back to prison.

Jan's baby does NOT need a room in that house. When/if Jan gives birth, she goes right back to prison. The drama will be about where the baby goes.
