I watch three of the current soaps, and I’m just wondering, did the canceled American soaps got good endings? Guiding Light, As the World Turns, All My Children? did they wrap up their final storylines or did they got canceled abruptly?

I watched the last guiding light and I think it did from what I remember. It seems the last scene was Reva and Josh riding off into the sunset if I'm not mistaken but it's been years so memory may be wrong.

I watched One Life to Live. If I remember correctly Viki and Clint were back together; so was Todd and Blair and we suspect that Victor Lord, Jr. aka Todd 1 or 2, was still alive and held captive by Allison Perkins, a psychopath, who had the very last word on the show.

Yes. Not only did Viki and Clint reunite but a DNA test proved Jessica and Natalie were the bio children of Clint and Viki (previous tests assumed just Viki with Mitch as Jess' father). Clint also proposed to Viki again.
Mitch Laurence died for real this time and was dragged to hell
Erika Slezak's Viki and Ilene Kristen's Roxy were able to share how fans felt about the cancellation through the cancellation of the fictional Fraternity Row, which Viki's daughter Megan had worked on. I thought this was a nice touch on Ron Carlivati's part.
Bo and Nora were back together and their grandson Drew was born.
Star and Cole reunited (Cole's death was faked) along with Hope.
Some of this would be undone (or have additional story added) by the Prospect Park OLTL and OLTL characters moving to GH.

I watched the end of GL and I was not happy at all with the ending. They rushed a Josh and Reva reunion at the end, and left the new love of Reva's life, her current husband Jeffrey, presumed dead, when he wasn't. He was just left perpetually chasing down a bad guy that posed a threat to Reva and his loved ones. No one but Reva's son, Jonathan knew Jeffrey was still alive. It sucked!

I personally loved the ending of ATWT. Each pairing - Holden and Lily, Carly and Jack, Lucinda and John, Bob and Kim were at a good place. Was it perfect, no. But the final shot of the globe spinning on Bob Hughes' desk - representing that stories/people's lives continue ... as the world turns .. was wonderful.
I loved the last scene of AW. Rachel says to Carl, "All's well that ends well." Rachel walks through the living room, looking at family photos while Bette Midler's In This Life plays. Again, people's lives continues, just in another world.

I think the best endings happened when the shows had a generous amount of time to wrap up their stories.
All My Children and One Life to Live were both cancelled on the same day in April of 2011 but they let OLTL run until January of 2012 while AMC ended in September of 2011. I think that extra four months gave OLTL more time to create an ending fans would enjoy and to try to lure back fan favorites.
When the time comes to close DAYS, I would love there to be at least a YEAR from the announcement date to the final airing. Maybe it's too much to ask but it would be nice.
