James Scott definitely was awesome as EJ. However, I kinda prefer Dan. There is something softer about him. I think he has done a great job in taking over the role. And it was not an easy job.

I loved looking at and listening to JS as EJ but I could never warm up to the character because of what he did to Sami. DF as EJ has removed that distaste for me because I didn't see him commit the act onscreen. This happens for me for some recasts but not others, not sure why. Anyway, I am loving DF as EJ. I like both the actor and the character now, including the looking at and listening to parts! I wouldn’t mind seeing DF play EJ’s more shady side business-wise if need be but I like EJ just fine as he is right now.Comment

I feel the same. At first I thought it was the same old same old, especially with Sami. But I’m starting to see a softer side too. I see it in his interactions with Susan. I see it now in his interactions with Johnny. I even saw it when EJ admitted to rafe he was jealous of his relationship with Johnny. I have never been a fan of EJ. So I didn’t care about the recast. I never thought I could see anyone other than James Scott as EJ. I don't even think about James Scott anymore until I run across a clip on youtube or someone mentions him here. Dan is just phenomenal.Comment

They really need to turn this into a fake EJ story and let Dan be an entirely new character. EJ never should have been brought back because despite the fact that an is immensely talented the changes in EJ just do not work. They totally rewrote the character to fit the new actor and that should not be done. JMHO!

I am aware that James made it clear he is not coming back and that is why I feel that even doing a recast of EJ was a foolish idea. Dan is fabulous as an actor but it is not right that he has to try to play a character that for me will never work for him. They need to have him find out he never was EJ then strive to find out who he really is and go after Kristen for lying to him and Sami about it.

Dan is wonderful as EJ! He had HUGE shoes to fill and filled them beautifully. Days asked Alison to select the new EJ after several screen test with other actors. She chose Dan and made an excellent choice. He does lack screen time, which I think is about to change soon.Comment

DF is EJ. They need to tough him up a little more. He is the perfect fit. He is the mature, been through some things EJ. I love him.
I never thought James could be replaced but he has. And in a good way.Comment

The original EJ was detestable and I never liked the character.
