  • Talk of old characters from the 80's leading to peacock library upload?

It has me thinking, could all this talk of characters from the 80's i.e. Don, Renee, Alex be the shows way of testing interest in uploading the full library to peacock. It kind of gets me to think that way. What are your thoughts?

I’m not paying for a streaming service for this. It will probably be clips only, and I already own clips off my favorite time period.

It depends if Peacock is willing too. I think most might be interested in BOPE and few others like STAYLA or Jennifer. I think some may want to revisit EJAMI era also considering some are looking on YouTube, and it's not there.

Interesting thought! I would like to see this happen.

It would be a very expensive undertaking, which financially, I don't think would be feasible.

Nope. If Peacock was going to add the whole library I assume they would have done that from the beginning.

Do we know for sure all the episodes have been preserved? I think the BBC lost 97 episodes of Doctor Who (out of 869) so I bet NBC didn't preserve some 14,000 episodes of Days and converted them to a video file format for the internet. And just think of how much storage space that would require just for that one show.

I believe most episodes of Days survived, but I can’t swear to it. NBC and Proctor&Gamble erased most of their soaps (Another World, Somerset, Return to Peyton Place, and How to Survive a Marriage) but Colgate, which produced the Doctors, saved their tapes, which is how that series was able to air on RetroTV. Texas, which was only on NBC for less than 2 and 1/2 years, also survived. Another World has some episodes that survived from 1979-1980, sporadic episodes from 1980-1984, and then every episode from 1985 to the finale. Days survived because of Columbia and Corday Productions.

Like Cat women said.....we might have to pay monthly to see these episodes. No wonder why some clips was taken down by YouTube.

I'd rather watch episodes from the 80s than today's version of Days. It has nothing to do with the actors/characters (well maybe a little). The writing is so juvenile now!
