What if Diedra Hall had Returned in 1988?

It has long been rumored that she almost returned in 1988 but Ms. Hall and the producers could not come to terms on a contract. What would have happened? Would they have not gone through with the entire Roman is not Roman story? Would Wayne Have still Returned to play Roman? What would Have Happened to Diana Colvile? Would We have never seen Isabella? It would have been interesting to see how a 1988 Marlena return would have changed the history of the show.

Good question. We might have missed out on Isabella. Diana might have been recast since Genie Frances most likely didn’t want to stay.

I wonder how long into the island adventure from 1988 did they learn she was not going to return. I believe they wrote the scripts with her return in mind. I wonder if they learned she was not coming back after they started filming or before? Note that they did not tape months and months in advance back then as they do today.
