Questions About Renee

Was Renee ever in Salem? Had she ever been in the Dimera mansion? Plus, it seemed odd that she knew of chad since he came long after she "died".

Abby mentioned she was married to Chad the other day to Sarah/Renee.

I assume Sarah/Renee reacted the way she did because Sarah's dinginess is coming through.

She lived in Salem but the current Dimera mansion isn’t the one she knew. She didn’t know she was Stefano’s daughter until a year or so before she was murdered.

Well, she knew where the Dimera mansion is. BUT this is really Sarah and Sarah definitely knows where the D mansion is.

This isn't the DiMera Mansion that she knew. That was a different one. This mansion was first seen in Salem when Shane & Kimberly purchased it years after Renee had died. As Shane/Kimberly were being phased out in 1992-1993, the DiMeras returned to Salem later in 1993 and started living in that mansion.

Jason I was beginning to think I imagined Kimberly and Shane living there. I'm glad you mentioned it. I remember them living there and possibly even Kimberly and Phillip living there when she had an episode with her DID.

I know. That was my point. I thought it was odd she knew where the D mansion was. But it was really Sarah knowing where it was.

It is a little complicated, but we have to remember that Sarah, while apparently having selective amnesia, is also able to subconsciously remember some people as Sarah rather than Renee. For example, she recognized Tony, yet she didn’t seem perturbed that he was 40 years older than Renee would be. That’s because somehow this drug she was given wiped out selective parts of her memory (aka the show is using the drug to propel the story the way they want it to go, logic be damned). Tony looks to this Renee exactly how she expected him to look because as Sarah, she’s met him recently. Renee knows the DiMera mansion because SARAH has seen it before. She knows what Anna looks like because SARAH has seen her before. If RENEE knew the person, then Sarah is able to recognize them, somehow. So in theory, she will recognize Maggie, Doug, Julie, Abe, and Marlena. Now Roman will be an interesting one- when Renee knew Roman, he looked like Wayne Northrup, but the actor playing Roman now also played Chris Kosirchek when Renee was alive. Now, it would be quite funny if Renee thought Roman was Chris, except Sarah didn’t know Chris, but still it would be a funny wink to the audience. Renee and Chris were actually very very close friends.

im also looking forward to Renee seeing Julie and Eli, her former lover David Banning’s son. Plus Marlena, whom she was close to.

I guess the only way for Sarah not to recognize Roman as Roman is if there were photos of Roman and Chris along with the diary, otherwise she wouldn't incorporate them into her fantasy. Sarah may not even be aware that Roman used to look different.

And Sarah (as Renee) has no problem using phrases that weren't even around 40 years ago, so it's not like her brain is trying to pretend everything's exactly like 1981.

It’s even more interesting because now Renee/Sarah is seeing different people as the characters in her head, like Xander as Alex Marshall. Xander is Sarah’s ex, so Renee/Sarah sees him as Renee’s ex, Alex?
