Good question, why would he want the baby of Ben Weston, except because of Ben's history and family. -
Even more curious, why does the devil want the spawn of a serial killer but not want to possess the serial killer? It would also make gaining access to the child so much easier.Comment

The same could be said for EJ, who is ironically is in jail for something he didn’t do. But he raped Sami,tortured Steve, and tried to kill john. He was also a drug dealer. Most recently his misogynistic behaviour came roaring back with the vile names he called Sami. All of that makes him completely unrootable to me. But Ben was mentally ill. Got help, and changed his life. After his redemption, he never reverted back to his old behaviour. He loves, and respects his wife,and her family. He feels guilt, remorse and shame, for his past, and wants to be a better person, that imo makes him rootable. But bottom line it’s a soap, where anyone can be redeemed. Some viewers will be ok with that, some won’t

One thing I've noticed with this story is now it seems like the devil really has taken over Johnny because we are not hearing the devils voice, the yellow eyes or that "evil laugh"....he's doing these things as Johnny(but I guess he's still possessed). I can get behind most of the havoc he's wreaking, but I agree with the OP, his obsession with the CIN baby doesn't really work well. The devil was thwarted on his last round because his victims were aware of his presents. I have to think that Ciara/Ben's involement here is that they are the ones that put the peices of the puzzle together and figure out Johnny is possessed.
I theorized awhile ago that this devil will probably enhibit another person before this is all done...and my guess is it will probably be Jake. The only way this devil would ever devert attention away from the CIN baby is if someone else gets pregnant.....is there anyone we know of that might be or could get pregnant?Comment

Well I think that’s because no one suspected the devil was still in Salem, until yesterday. So to get things done the devil can’t show himself as much. But the voice and eyes are still being shown, just not as much. I noticed the eyes yesterday.
Part of me thinks the devil will possess someone else soon, because it feels like Ciara and Ben figured it out too soon.

The devil should have stayed with Chanel and he could have made his own baby. But, it's probably easier to steal Ben and Ciara's baby than try to stay faithful to Chanel. He wants to stir up trouble with multiple people so if he stayed married he couldn't do that easily.Comment
