SOS: No Days Due To Olympics In Tokyo!

Olympics is approaching this week, which means that, Friday July 23, to August 6, there will be no Days! Don't know if some knows this, but I hope it helps! Don't know if this should have been in a spoiler or what. Hopefully, the cliffhanger should be good!

The people on this board who do not know about the Days hiatus during the Olympics are probably not that interested in Days or the Olympics.

This should have been in a spoiler. Those of us who don't read spoilers would rather turn on the tv on Fri and find out Days is not on than to hear about it in advance.

I love Days but since I watch Y&R and GH also, I could use a little break especially since we never got an Olympics break or CoVid break last year. That extra 40 minutes being free means a lot to me from time to time so I can catch up on sleep or my reading. This may sound strange to some but a little break from my soaps from time to time means so much. I’ve been watching soaps faithfully for over 45 years and can count the episodes I’ve missed on one hand!

It's not a spoiler as it only relates to when the show airs.

A spoiler reveals a detail about a story or set to stories that have not aired yet

It was not intended as a joke, cuz I did not know how to put it as. I do agree with Jay, it is not related to Days in anyway.

tiff5555 MrAgnes' post was totally a joke. An obvious one.

Is there no episode on FRiday?

Or does the hiatus start with Monday's episode?

Yup! Starting Friday, July 23, there is no Days. It looks like NBC wanted to highlight the Olympics or have new infos during the daytime of the schedules of the shows. Days will resume back on August 9th, which is on a Monday

Didn’t they do the same thing in 2016 with both Summer and Winter Olympics?

Days is always preempted for sport events.

Summer Olympics 2004, 2012 and 2016 are the only two-week breaks. Winter Olympics have never had more than 1 preemption.

This is going to be the crap Olympics! No spectators, many of the best athletes have Covid and can't compete. They shouldn't even have it. Put it off another year.

A lot of the athletes have tested positive for the virus. On tonight's world news, it was mentioned there might be a postponement of the games. They said that Japan had a very high rate of Covid and less options for the vaccines. At least they did say that!

Their is a chance they may get canceled ???I am hoping so. Really would rather have DOOL. On a real note it is so wrong and irresponsible to host Olympics when they are in a state of emergency and so many are against it. It is a public safety emergency someone should step in with all the sick people.

I agree. Why on earth would they go ahead and do all the preparations when they knew that this Pandemic is nowhere near over here or anywhere in the world? My opinion only!

It might get cut short if this is the case with the new virus

I wish the sports channels would carry the Olympics and regular tv would continue. It's 2021, for gosh sakes!

I will bump it up since some don't know or is looking for this Monday, not knowing Days won't be on.
