I agree. This needs to be a slow buildup, not a rushed relationship. There's a lot of baggage, both individually and together. Allie was raped, which I fear the writers will just drop once this story is over since RC's annual rape is typically a plot point that is dropped because the story isn't character-driven. It should be addressed though. Tripp meanwhile has to deal with the Charlie/Ava situation. He and Ava have some issues to work out there that are a big part of what happened.

Then together they have the fact that Allie so adamantly tried to destroy his life over something he didn't do and she didn't have any memory of him doing. Even if he forgives her, there should still be some lingering tension. It doesn't just go away, especially considering she did almost shoot him over it. It should be the kind of thing where, now that there has been apology and forgiveness with a clear desire to move forward, they should have to work at it with patience and understand for each other. Acknowledging what Nicole did, confronting her about her very active role in what happened, and getting away from her would be a very good way to help them move on together. Won't happen, I'm sure, since she's so far successfully put the blame on Allie without acknowledging how she manipulated her. But it would make for some great scenes and great bonding for Tripp and Allie.

Whether or not they finally deal with Nicole, this story needs to be a slow burn and it needs to be between them. No outside meddling, no one pushing them. They need to come into it naturally with the time and care it requires. They need to heal together and grow together. I just fear these writers aren't going to give it that due care.

I feel for poor Tripp if he gets too involved with Allie. It's been shown that Allie is extremely immature. Her wanting to get the gun and
go after Charlie, and thinking that no one would know, the same as when she tried the same with Tripp, shows how true that is.

Tripp has matured a lot since his previous time on the show and him wanting to be involved in Henry's life, shows that. He'd do
well to keep his involvement with Allie as just Henry's mother.

Allie is young and, yes, she's behaved immaturely, especially leading up to her son's birth. But recasting it in light of the emotional upheaval she was going through at the time, being raped while blackout drunk,* I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. She's been a lot better since she's begun raising her son and dealing with her trauma.


*It now seems more likely that she wasn't much blackout drunk as blocking out what happened due to the trauma.
